A former colleague posted on Facebook that he was going back to Ireland for his late father's Month's mind. Anyone know what this is?

As I said, someone posted that he was returning for his late father’s month’s mind. His father passed away recently.
I am not close enough to query him about it ( we worked together in the 90’s) but I have never heard the expression,if I have got it right.

Never heard the term but googled it.

“noun, Roman Catholic Church
1.
a Requiem Mass said on the thirtieth day after a person’s death or burial.”

I am no expert in Catholic ceremonies, but it sounds like this may be similar to the Jewish ceremony of Shloshim. link

Shloshim marks 30 days after the death of a loved one, and is seen as the end of the formal mourning period for the family.
