Can you reset the start screen on your phone so that it goes directly to the dialing page?

Asked by rojo (24179points) September 11th, 2015

It would be nice to have the screen that allows me to call/text pop up immediately on my phone since that is what I am most likely going to do instead of going to the “main” screen that then requires you choose what app you want. Any way to do this?
Yes, it would only eliminate one step but that is one step less that I have to sit and wait for my slow-assed phone to decide whether or not it is going to do it.
Android based, Samsung P.O.S.(according to my daughter).

What, your smart-assed daughter can’t fix this for you?
Or have you neglected to present her with the challenge?

With cell phone booths and stores on every corner and in every mall, just stop by and ask one of the experts.

Yes, but in a slightly different way.

Go to Android PlayStore, look for the words “dialer widget”. Choose one of them. It places a full-screen widget as an overlay on top of the regular android screen, and you can dial straight from the widget.

Takes 2 seconds to install.

Rearrange your icons onto different pages, making the first page contain only the call and text icons

With my Android I can “park” four icons at the bottom. Mine include Phone, Test and Photo.

On my Android phone I could create an “app looking” icon for people in my contacts, so with one touch I was dialing them. I had my top 5 people I called regularly on my home page, so when I put my screen on there they were. With my iPhone I have to go into phone>favorites>person I want to call. It’s annoying after having the android convenience.
