Remember Jade Helm 15? It ended, and the southwest is still free! What was the point of all the crazy alarmism?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33146points) September 17th, 2015

Remember at the beginning of summer, people in Texas and other paranoid states were worried that the Army’s Jade Helm exercises were a danger to their states? They were theorizing that it was Obama’s plan (of course) to put those states under martial law.

Well, it ended. link

Nothing happened that I can see.

Texans and New Mexicans – are you still free?

But the real question – what was the point behind all that scaremongering by the Jade Helm paranoids? What did they get out of it?

It was essentially a Texas Militia recruiting tool, and now they can say, “we showed them, they didn’t dare.”

People like Alex Jones and David Icke are used to hide the real conspiracies amongst all the craziness so that, for example, people will associate the Trilateral Commission with chemtrails and reptilians. The Trilateral Commission is a real event where world leaders get together with their billionaire overlords and conspire on how to retain control over Planet Earth, which anyone can verify for themselves. But mention the name “Trilateral Commission” now and people will roll their eyes and tell you to take off your tinfoil hat because it’s been deliberately conflated with Hollow Earth Nazis and shark cartilage pills.

The hysterics over Jade Helm were there to hide the real threats, like the fact that Amerika is now a de facto one-party police state run by an oligarchy of billionaire sociopaths.

It’s only free BECAUSE of the hysteria… or at least that’s what they’ll tell you.

Sort of like this
The problem really isn’t the people who spread this bullshit around. They simply are enjoying their moment in the media spotlight.
The problem is people who are gullible enough to imagine it is much more than sensationalism.
