Have you seen the movie "The Intern" starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway?

Asked by jca (36062points) October 18th, 2015

I saw the movie “The Intern” and found it amusing and charming with a good story line.

I am a Robert De Niro fan and was not previously an Anne Hathaway fan, but I like her now, too.

Have you seen it? I liked it!

Yes, I saw it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. De Niro was adorable, and I’ve always been an Anne Hathaway fan. She reminds me of Judy Garland and I think she is beautiful and very talented. I’d give the film a good review, not the most amazing film ever, but yes, charming, amusing and easy to watch.

I first came across Anne Hathaway in this film, thought she was adorable.

@Coloma I could not appreciate Anne more than in this mash up O_O

Another good new release I saw in the same time frame was the Nick Nolte and Robert Redford film ” A walk in the woods.” Both were outstanding and a very funny movie!

@Coloma Wow…she rocked that one above and beyond. Excellent performance!

It sounds appealing, but I don’t watch anything that has Anne Hathaway in it if I can help it.

@Jeruba What is it you do not like about her?

Jeruba's avatar

@Coloma It’s her appearance more than anything else. There’s a handful of actresses that I just can’t stand to watch because of something about their looks, mostly around the mouth and teeth. I don’t claim any rationality for it, and it’s no reflection on their talents (or popularity) as a performer. It’s more like, I don’t know, maybe an aversion to some particular vegetable that you never want to meet in a salad, no matter how much others like it.

@Jeruba Haha, well, she does kind of have the mouth of a horse.

No. It’s got really bad reviews here. It’s also the sort of movie I’ll wait until I can watch it at home.

@Jeruba I always assume most of the actresses with mouths like that had their teeth capped. Alyssa Milano is one that troubles me. She didn’t look like that when she was younger. A lot of female actors have it done I think, and then it looks like their lips don’t properly close over their mouths. It bothers me.

Maybe Anne Hathaway always had large teeth? I’m not sure. Her front teeth are a little long, but I think she probably had some sort of cap or veneer also, plus she became way too skinny for a while, which added to her toothy appearance.

I used to not like her when she was too skinny and had short hair, but in this movie she was charming. She looked like maybe she gained a few lbs and her hair was longer.

@Jeruba MY Ex and to a lesser extent I feel that way about Renee Zellwiger, It’s her mouth and the funny things she does with it.

I love Anne Hathaway. I really enjoyed the movie with her and James McAvoy (super hottie!) called Becoming Jane
