Do you have a similar university story?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24450points) November 29th, 2015

In first year university psychology I had to buy plasticine and make a cheaply made brain with tiny labels. As soon as I got my grade I chucked it in the trash.
My professor said that world wide psychology is the same. Is that true? Is the worlds garbage bins full of plastercine brains? it was 1999 / 2000 year.

At my school I have to pay some ridiculous amount of money for test papers. If anyone doesn’t pay it’s an F for the test. After the test nobody talks about the money or papers.

I was in college around then, @RedDeerGuy1, I even took psychology… but I never had an assignment like that. So I doubt the landfills are full of labeled brains.

I wonder if maybe the teacher was speaking metaphorically.

Like psychologists just label the brain, and once labelled discard it and cease further effort.

I took psych around 1998 and never had to do that silliness.
I do remember having to pay for “exam books” that were just 10 or so sheets of bound paper with the university logo. Same deal, if you did not use one to write your essay question answers you got an F. They were like $4 a pop. Not too outrageous but still a money grab by the university.
