What are my fellow Jellies doing for Christmas Eve and Christmas? Anything special? Do you celebrate? Can I wish you all a Merry Christmas?

Asked by jca (36062points) December 24th, 2015

What, if anything, are you doing for Christmas Eve?

What about Christmas? Spending time with family, friends, solo?

Can I wish my Jelly friends a Merry Christmas?

Merry Christmas to you too! I’ll be home with my husband Christmas Eve. Just the two if us, he flies in late afternoon. I’m making one of the dishes his mom makes for Christmas.

Christmas day I’m not sure. Most likely just stay home with my husband, but I might call up a friend and drop in on them.

staying in bed, sleeping out my cold.

I want to haul the wife to the movies later in the day to see “The Big Short”, but some of the stuff I ordered online hasn’t shown up, and I’m sure the delivery people are monitoring the house so they can rush over within minutes after we leave to gleefully slap that attempted delivery notice on the door. Merry Christmas to all of you

@stanleybmanly hehehehe, that look on your face when you get back and see that delivery notice stuck on the door! Don’t you wish you’d never gone out?

Hopefully getting my night owl child to sleep early enough that I can lay out presents, and tomorrow I’m making a ham and probably watching him swoon over his new video game system for the next six months.

Yeah the delivery folks probably photograph those grimaces of frustration for their year end “dissgusted customer” competition.

Thank you, @jca, and the same to you.

It’s a chilly, blessedly (even if ill-timedly) rainy day in Northern California. I’ll have the tree and other special lights on all day today and tomorrow.

I’m planning a Christmas Eve dinner at home with my husband and my two grown sons, and then I’m heading out to my regular Thursday-night meeting. We don’t hang stockings any more.

I finished all my wrapping last night! Considering that all of yesterday afternoon and all the previous evening were spent trying to get medical attention for my son’s foot fracture, that was a miracle in itself.

Baking pumpkin pies this afternoon. No time for cookies—a casualty of dealing with the foot-injury situation. If I don’t pace myself a little, I’ll be the one heading for the ER. For several reasons, I’m pretty much running a solo act here.

Tomorrow: presents in the early afternoon, and then all hands called into service to prepare a pot roast for dinner. We’ve decided that we like this better than turkey for Christmas. My husband makes the world’s best gravy.

Merry holidays to all!

@ragingloli, I wish you a warm, snug blanket, some honey-lemon tea, and a bushel of crrusty old movies.

I volunteered to work. My whole family is spread across the states, so I would much rather offer someone else the opportunity to share the holiday with their families. I have this nice arrangement with my boss. I will work all of the family oriented holidays if I can have off the single people holidays… And the day after ~

I got out of work at noon yesterday. I passed the day away by having lunch at Panera with some friends. Then I went to my parents’ house and we went to church and then to a nice seafood restaurant. Today, back to my parents’ for the day.

I was really tired yesterday and feeling relieved that now the stress of the Christmas build-up is over and it’s just going to be enjoying the holidays and some time off.

Just my husband and I for Christmas day, but we’ll have ham, sweet potatoes, and green beans with bacon & onions for dinner. We’ll see all of our kids and grandkids tomorrow for presents and fun.

Merry Christmas everyone!
