What are your thoughts about eating emu meat?

Asked by Here2_4 (7152points) January 1st, 2016

Meat eaters only are invited to present their opinions to this question. I am not providing a forum for meat haters this time.
I was unaware that emu were being harvested in the US with any sort of big goals.
Apparently there was an effort to make emu popular in the US, but mostly that effort has fallen off.
I have never tried emu, but I am curious.
Is anyone here emu eaters, cooks, ranchers?
I would like to know about cost, flavor, availability. I welcome all information and opinions from experienced meat eaters.

Never had it, but I’m certainly willing to try it.

I have had ostrich, probably tastes about the same. It was like turkey but more red like beef.

@ARE_you_kidding_me did you like it? Was it made privately, or at a restaurant?

It was good, like a lean red meat. It was at fuddruckers. I think they still make burgers with it.
