Does my electronic photo frame have a face recognition thing going on?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46804points) January 21st, 2016

I have about 300 pictures of my family loaded on it. It’s a gift for my dad’s wife. I’m letting it scroll through the pics so I can stop and edit ones that need to be editing.

I can’t help but notice that it’s displaying different pictures of the same kid one right after the other, until all those pictures are played out.

Then it starts on a new kid.

They are in totally random order, just the way they were in my picture file when I loaded them all to the USB card.

The only thing I can think of is that at one point I made a separate folder for each person, and moved pictures of them to their folder. I wanted to make sure they were pretty evenly represented Mainly because I could download a million pictures just of Savannah because she’s so freaking beautiful, not realizing that I have 90 of her to every 1 of the other kids!

Anyway, after I checked every thing I then grabbed all of the pics out of the folders and re-loaded them into the main file. They sorted themselves back in the random order they were in.
Most of them are not named except by what ever number or letter combination the camera assigned it.

So why is it displaying the same kids in groups?

Is it possible it is sorting by file date and time?

No because the pictures range from 2005 on up. It will show one of, say Kale, when he was a few months old, and the next is when he’s 2½. Or one of Brande when she’s 3, and the next she’s 12.
It’s just really strange!

Hell, it just went from one of Kale, last Christmas, when he was two, and the next one was when he was born! He, and his sister, were 5 weeks premature. I don’t even see how face recognition could do that.

Went from me, when I was about 4, then to me when I was 36, another when I was about 37, then back to me when I was 3.

I put captions on most of them, using the insert tool in Word. Is it possible it’s reading the captions? But….on the other hand, some of them aren’t captioned and they still get to the right place. This is weird! I won’t tell my Dad’s wife though. She’s already paranoid about technology as it is.
