3) Stay home and vomit

Although I’m not going to vote in the Irish elections. If I was American, I’d vote for Bernie Sanders. I would be very interested to see what Sanders would bring to the US government as a president.

ragingloli's avatar

It is still a tight race between Shillary and Sanders.
It could very well turn into The Right Wing Extremists vs The Only Sane And Honest One.

Coloma's avatar

I’m a Bernie supporter too, but shhh…if my some of my uber conservative friends knew I would be blacklisted. haha

johnpowell's avatar

Ideally Bernie. But I am totally fine with him or Clinton. All the Republics are lunatics.

dammitjanetfromvegas's avatar

First choice Bernie.
Second choice Hillary.
I will not vote for a Republican.

chyna's avatar

Either Bernie or Hillary.

Here2_4's avatar

The Donald.

filmfann's avatar

With so much at stake, I cannot imagine leaving the election to people who aren’t disgusted with the choices.
No candidate repels me as much as Trump.
I will vote for Hillary.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

I will vote in any CANADIAN election that I can.
But if I did vote in the yankee election I tend to lean towards Sanders with Hillary right behind Trump is S-C-A-R-Y!!!!!

Republican debate in 12 minutes. Should we use this question to discuss the scary?

Pachy's avatar

The little booth in which I voted last week on the first day of my state’s early primary voting period had no curtain, but my keyboard does. I prefer to keep my primary choices private, and I’ll do the same in November.

Zaku's avatar

It better not be Hillary.

Sanders.

If it’s Hillary, I may just stop freakin’ caring about US politics altogether. Might even vote Trump just for comedy and to express my disgust. Not that I don’t think Trump is nuts and horrible and saying all the wrong things, but because if someone as honest and benevolent as Sanders has come this far and doesn’t get to be the candidate, then the sooner the whole thing implodes, the better, maybe.

Clinton means at least another 4 years of Obama’s miserably misguided and failed policies. I would rather take my chance with Trump and his sharp shooters he will appoint to his cabinet coupled with Paul Ryan now leading the House to FINALLY get some sensible spending bills passed that will produce results and JOBS! I would love to see Trump appoint Newt Gingrich as Secretary of State….No more BS negotiations….now we are kicking ass and taking names!

josie's avatar

I think at this point you may have presented a false alternative.
Get back to me in May.

gondwanalon's avatar

I’m a Republican living in the liberal State of Washington. So My vote doesn’t really count in the general election. But because I see Bernie as an easier candidate for the Republican nominee to beat than Hillary I’ll vote for Bernie in the primaries. (They let you cross party to vote in the primaries here). I yearn for the Bern!

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I voted Rubio. Bernie actually kinda scares me, not as bad as Trump but less than Cruz or Hillary.

Seek's avatar

I’m voting for Bernie.

I prefer not to think about the alternatives until I absolutely have to.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I can’t think of a single election with worse choices than we have now. There are ~320 million people in the US and this is the best we got?

ibstubro's avatar

If the Senate Republicans refuse any hearing on Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, I will, for the first time in my life, vote a straight Democratic ticket, no matter the candidate.

SquirrelEStuff's avatar

There’s still a very good chance that the GOP does not accept Trump and its Rubio/Clinton/Trump, with Clinton winning, which was my prediction from the beginning.

This whole thing is a joke and the fact that we as a society still talk about it like we really have a choice is kinda scary. You are all very smart people, but for some reason, not smart enough to see that we are being played.

Coloma's avatar

@SquirrelEStuff Now, now…no blanket statements my good man/women. I am a die hard apolitical that is considering Sanders as my first vote in 38 years.

CWOTUS's avatar

With my feet, by staying away from the polling stations.

@coloma
Please forgive my frustration. I don’t mean to offend anyone. I just don’t understand how the majority can not see through the facade.
I like Bernie the best out of all of em, but if supporting Ron Paul the past two elections taught me anything, it’s that people like him don’t stand a chance.
I think George Carlin said it best, “Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land, they own and control the corporations that’ve long since bought and paid for, the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pocket, and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and the information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else. But I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them.”

Cruiser's avatar

“I voted Rubio” @ARE_you_kidding_me I really need to get your secret for time shifting…I am so envious.

Seek's avatar

Rubio is a Florida representative… You know, an elected position.

Cruiser's avatar

@Seek Thanks for the clarification as the statement all lumped together threw me off….coupled with it being late and multitasking I Fumbled that one.

“I voted Rubio. Bernie actually kinda scares me, not as bad as Trump but less than Cruz or Hillary.”

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Um, it’s called the primaries. You know where you “vote”

Seek's avatar

^ that was the other possibility, but I didn’t know where you lived.

I know I’ve voted against Rubio at least once.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I don’t care for the guy either. He is a career politician, not much more to say. More of a vote against other candidates and not “for”

ibstubro's avatar

Yeah!
It’s the new American Way!
“Who are you going to vote against this fall?!”

Coloma's avatar

@SquirrelEStuff No problem, I’m a Carlin fan from damn near his ground floor. Agreed, why I haven’t voted in 38 years and maybe I will and maybe I won’t this go round. Bernie is the 1st in decades that gets some of my attention, but still only some. haha

dammitjanetfromvegas's avatar

@johnpowell I’m watching. It’s like watching The View. A bunch of squawking and talking over each other. I was surprised when Trump brought up all the good that Planned Parenthood does. He had me going for a minute thinking he wouldn’t defund the organization. Of course I was wrong.

ucme's avatar

Not being eligible to vote, I can sit back & enjoy the madness unfold.
Hellary or The Don…you couldn’t make this shit up & if you did, you’d have the best horror/comedy script ever.

SecondHandStoke's avatar

I don’t ask.

I don’t tell.

Here2_4's avatar

^^ Chicken! Thumbs in ears, fingers wiggling Pbthbthbthbpth

Here2_4's avatar

And the race to be Vice President is on!

SecondHandStoke's avatar

^^ Fine!

I voted for Frank Underwood.

johnpowell's avatar

Anybody want to wager on Trumps VP pick. I’m willing to bet 10 that he picks one of his kids.

Cruiser's avatar

I’ll take that bet @johnpowell. What Trump knows he needs is a VP with Washington street creds that can give the voters assurance that this VP will not only baby sit the megalomaniac but be more qualified than the Donald to grab the wheel of the clown bus if Trump ever keeled over.

CWOTUS's avatar

Whoever he picks, @johnpowell, he’s gonna be great! Fantastic! People are gonna love him! He’ll be the best ever! No, not ‘her’. Trump will not pick a female VP. She’d undoubtedly be prettier than him – and smarter – and he can’t abide that.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I’m British so my opinion is irrelevant but if I was in the States I’d be happy to see either Hillary or Bernie as the next president.
