What was the grand opening date of the Joe's Crab Shack in Roseville MN where the black lynching photo was discovered embedded in the tabletop?

Asked by ibstubro (18804points) March 12th, 2016

I searched for quite a while looking for when the Joe’s opened in Roseville, and I can’t find a year, much less a date.

I’m curious how many people were exposed to the photo before it was reported and became an issue.

I have no idea about Roseville but one opened around here about 8 years ago.

Well, according to this, it was Thursday, Dec 3, 2009.
I have no idea if this is accurate.
That was my thought too. How long had the picture been in the restaurant before someone complained?

I saw a clip from a panel show, @AshlynM, and they were going on about how many people had seen the picture on the table and failed to be outraged.
That got me wondering how long the restaurant had been there – guessing that if it had been a recent remodel that the Crab Shack company would have brought that up.

If the restaurant opened in 2009 that can hardly be the original decor.
