Does anyone else suffer from eye strains & facial spasms?

Asked by th3dream3r (88points) March 24th, 2016

I am a graphic/ advertising designer, so I spend a lot of time on the computer. I have developed a pretty bad eye strain because of this. Its hard for me to concentrate when doing certain things. My anxiety has made it so much worst. I can tell people in public often notice and stare at me. My eye lids sometimes twitch, and sometimes it feels like my eyes twitch and jerk. I take public transportation a lot. Many times I want to read a book or play games on my phone. However with my eye strain it is hard to do so. I also find myself looking around a lot. Mostly to see if anyone notices. I always just go to sleep whenever I am on the bus or train. Mainly to avoid all the problem with my eyes and people staring. I take special care when on the computer like, lighting, not sitting to close, adjusting the angle of the screen, things like that. I went to the doctor but they said nothing was wrong. I guess it’s something you have experience to understand.

Follow the 20–20-20 rule It helps reduce eye strain!

Yes, I used to get that quite a lot. I was eventually prescribed glasses for when I am using computers and reading.

Get your sight check.

If you drink caffeine that might be contributing to your twitching.

Often, and definitely seems to be stress related for me.

I have parts twitching all the time! but I’ve had 9 TIA’s over the past 13 years. I recommend taking occasional breaks to look at distant objects to exercise your eyes and relieve the tension.
