- Most depictions of the vampire burn if they come into contact with holy water and the crucifix.

- A concept of zombies is referenced the bible itself.
“And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.)”Zechariah 14:12

- The Exorcist? Well we all know that the Catholic Church have been renowned for their infamous exorcists.

- The Omen. Well this is of course based on the belief of the devil.

Because religion, and the terror of what some think could be because of it, strikes so very close to home.

Many ‘horror’ films seem to be based on a belief in an afterlife. Ghosts, demons, angels, etc. reflect this assumption. The afterlife belief is not only Christian; other groups and religions also make this a part of their dogma. The supernatural may not be real but it makes for a good, exciting story.

Then, there is the horror trope in which any girl who has sex must be targeted by the serial killer. I’m pretty sure that’s based on Christian values.
