The Entertainment World is well-versed in covering up a multitude of sins. Who needs to be made aware of their lofty attitudes and bad behavior the most?

Asked by msh (4270points) April 29th, 2016 from iPhone

From tabloids to press releases, expose tidbits to photo ops, those in the Entertainment field get away with a great deal- without repercussions -that most do not. Film, stage, family press, hook-up leaks and vindictive behaviors which rival the actions of the Ancient Gods, should have brought many inflated egos back to earth with a loud ‘Thud’ by now. Who, in your opinion, is the most deserving in the Entertainment World to have their wings clipped for a rapid descent back into a cactus here on earth?

I try to see those in the entertainment industry as artists and therefore judge them by their work. If I enjoy their stuff, I’ll partake. If not, I won’t.

I will not, however, follow celebrity gossip as much as I can help it. As such, I have little to go on as far as judging them, much less prescribing wing clipping and all.

Plus, it’s nothing new that questionable, morally skewed, or downright nasty people make some amazing art.

I can appreciate Caravagio’s paintings despite knowing he killed some people. Picasso is still a master despite beating his wife. John Bonham payed drums like nobody’s business despite being an alcoholic. And on, and on.

Judge not. I think tabloid topics are a waste of my brain space.

Entertainers have agents and spin doctors who receive a lot of money for what they do. I, too, rarely follow most celebrities and scandals. I can’t help what I overhear. Prince taking painkillers is the current one. Also Kelly and Michael Strahan was in the news recently for his departing the show and her taking some unplanned time off because they failed to tell her he was leaving. I like that show, although I rarely get to watch it, so I’ve been following that scandal. Other than that, the Kardashians, Beyonce and Jay Z, etc. I don’t follow at all.

Oh, @msh, get real. It isn’t just entertainment. It is politicians, businesspeople, athletes, and so on. Entertainers are just one of many groups that get treated differently because of their celebrity.

As to ’ who is going to clip their wings ’? – there isn’t an agency or any sort of regulator that will do it. Usually this sort of behavior resolves itself in two ways: (a) the person overdoses on drugs or kills himself doing something really stupid, or (b) the fans (or supporters) of the person lose interest and the person stops being oversize and begins being normal again.

In any event, it’s not worth any effort on my part to deflate someone’s ego.

I’m not a celebrity follower, in the least. Other than the unavoidable tidbits that get thrust in our faces. I think this whole Prince thing is outta control, but who am I to determine whose egos need amending? Plenty of average, everyday people with over inflated egos celebrities aside.

I have more important things to think about these days. It is what it is. I will say, I never pass up an opportunity to look at pictures of that darling little Prince George. Cutest kid in the world. haha

Kanye West is clearly a frustrated man.

At the core of this frustration is his inability to understand that commercial success is not in any way proof of talent.

This highlights the old adage of there is no such thing as bad press and I know many of the red carpet junkies do stupid ass stuff just to get on TMZ. My initial answer would be Joan Rivers but she is worm food now and would have to agree with @SecondHandStoke that Kanyay Wurst has taken the crown from Paris Hilton and the Kardashians for the douchebag I want to see implode the most.
