How do I link to a specific comment?

Asked by SmartAZ (1807points) July 7th, 2016

Some people have a link that looks like @Soandso and it goes to a post by Soandso. How do you get the address for such a link? It looks like about half the participants don’t know how to do that.

Do you see where it says “Flag as” right below this comment? Hover next to that, slightly to the right. You’ll see a red symbol and a box appearing. Right-click and copy that, and you have the permalink.

Oh, but as for the @ links, you don’t have to do anything special. Literally just type ”@” and then somebody’s username and it’ll automatically link to the most recent post in the thread by that person. Like this! @longgone.

Ooooh….of course. I completely misunderstood the question. Thanks, @Mariah.

At the desktop version of Fluther (www….), if you type just the ”@”, you should get a drop-down list of up to 10 of the most recent posters in a thread.

However, you won’t get a d-d list at i.fluther.com.

^ But you can still type someone’s name manually, and the link will appear when the post is made.
