How have you willingly or unwillingly hurt someone?

Have you been lucky enough to go through life without hurting anyone?

Ha! Not possible.

I struggle often with a weird sense of guilt for the unavoidable consequences that my existence has on the world. I especially hope to someday give back the 11 units of blood that I’ve taken from the blood supply. I will never know whether someone was harmed as a result of that blood not being available to them. I hope not.

Breaking up with both of my exes was hard even once I knew it had to happen because I hated that I was going to hurt them. And hurt them it did. But what else do you do? You don’t just stay in a loveless relationship. That hurts everyone involved.

In no way could anyone have been harmed by those units of blood, don’t even think about it.

Eh, I’ve read horror stories of hospitals running out of blood. It’s always in short supply. But, thank you. :)

Damn it! That was my blood @Mariah! I wanted it back but they said some chick stole it all!

I have hurt others, inadvertently. Even my kids. And that will tear you up.

Yes, I’ve hurt the people I would least want to hurt; my children.
