I was annoyed that the TV programming was disrupted by it.
Thank god I no longer have TV. Otherwise Paris, Belgium and Munich would have annoyed the hell out of me, too.

I was alone at home just out of the shower getting dressed for work when I got a call from a friend telling me to turn on my TV. I stood/sat riveted to it for half an hour in horror and disbelief. The rest of the day was spent doing little else but talk about it.

The world has never been the same to me since that dreadful day and the ones that immediately followed.

The short answer I suppose, as I mull it over, is that it changed everything.
It was a ‘Turning point, ‘in history. And not for the better.

I wish it never happened is an understatement.

My mother was going though chemo at the time, so I was with her in the US when this happened. We turned off the tv and put on some classical music to listen to. We were in shock and angry, but we had our own battle to concentrate on. I was oddly considering moving back to the US from New Zealand, but when that happened and I had time to consider it and saw the reaction of the politicians, I couldn’t wait to get back to the Land of the Long White Cloud. Little did I realise, the terror attacks would also change my destiny from living in New Zealand to rekindling a love affair and moving to Norway. (I think there is a really bad book in there somewhere….)

I had just dropped my daughter off at her rural school bus stop and another parent said a plane had crashed into the WTC. I drove back home, about a mile, walked in and turned on the TV just in time to see the 2nd plane hit within seconds. It was surreal and after all the 9–11 media coverage I checked out of all TV media and have not watched TV, period, since then.
