Have you ever rubbed your lower eye lid, felt a pop, and began crying from that one eye uncontrollably for about a minute?

It’s happened to me a few times in my life. It isn’t painful or anything… The pop feels akin to popping a pimple or something, then you just cry freely from that eye for a bit.
What could this mean?

From my limited understanding of the human body, it sounds like you have a build up of tears in your ducts, probably from to many dead cells, or salt, or any number of other things that your body exudes. The tears build up and then when you rub your eye, the pressure brakes the seal and you have no choice but to cry, or rather drain your tears. The other possibly is your ducts are so close to your eye, that they can be agitated by something very small and the rubbing exaggerates that agitation and you cry out of reflex.
But like I said, I know nothing but what little bit I know. My recommendation, see a doctor, failing that. Film it, put it on YouTube and gross people out. I guess that is the current trent for anything odd now-a-days.
Gross. Having experienced it once, why not refrain from rubbing your eye, which can do other harm if done too vigorously?
…I’m not exactly rubbing it all day long incessantly with great force or anything. It’s just, it happened a few times in the past. Sneezing and having a huge booger flop out happens more often.
Can’t explain the pop, but I did find this: “Rubbing the eyes also stimulates tearing, which helps bring moisture back into the eyes.”
