Suggestions on some places to go while alone in Anaheim, CA?

Asked by Lulu4500 (162points) October 19th, 2016 from iPhone

My fiancĂ© is here in Cali on business and I tagged along. Two of the days he is working so I’ll be by myself until evening. I need some things to do and places to go! Left LA out of the equation because we plan to go there together later on in the week.

Will you have a car?

You’re about 25 minutes from Yorba Linda, Calif where you could visit the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and see the helicopter.

You’re 40 minutes from San Juan Capistrano, old Spanish mission. Lots of good restaurants. And the old church (now in ruins) is interesting from a historical point of view.

And you’re not far from a whole bunch of beaches.

Anaheim itself is sort of an old cruddy city with an aging downtown. Except for Disney, not much right in town.

Disneyland. If you go by yourself you can ride all the rides as a single rider and rarely have to stay in line.

@elbanditoroso I plan to Uber everywhere, which is fine as long as it isn’t crazy far. I’ll check out the presidential library.

@tinyfaery I should’ve put it in the description, but we went to Disneyland together yesterday. Would rather not pay all that money again lol especially because they are having a Halloween event, meaning the park closes way earlier than usual.

@Lulu4500 , even if you aren’t a republican, the presidential library is interesting from a historical point of view.

Knotts Berry Farm is not too far away: https://www.knotts.com/

Knotts is dull.
Disneyland is the promised land. Even with part of it closed because of Star Wars Land construction.
A day in Universal Studios (a 45 minute uber ride) can be fun, mostly because of the Harry Potter land, mostly. The Simpson’s area is amusing, though underappreciated.

The beach! Seal Beach and Huntington Beach are fairly close.

Also, if you like Vietnamese food, Orange County & Anaheim area have some of the best. I can’t name specific places, though. It’s been ten years since I’ve been there

Do you like to shop? Some of the best malls around! Especially Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza.
You could rent a bike at Newport Beach and ride all the way up to Hunnington Beach and beyond.
I think the Laguna Beach Arts Festival is still going on.
