Why is it so difficult to waterproof cell phones?

Asked by ibstubro (18804points) November 20th, 2016

Are they even really trying?

Isn’t water damage the greatest cause of cell phone replacement/revenue?

I believe I could design waterproof ports for a cell phone/cell phone case, given existing technology.

What’s the point of making them last that isn’t very capitalistic.
Most people (not all) are trading off their cell phones for the latest greatest one so often what is the point of making them last?
