Sex or masturbation. Is it done?

Sex in space would be fucking out of this world.

I doubt it. There’s not a whole lot of room in our spacecraft or on the ISS, and privacy is virtually non-existent. Plus considering how zero-gravity effects bodily fluids I wouldn’t necessarily count on being able to maintain an erection in space.

(*Although I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before experiments on sex in zero-gravity are conducted.)

Yes, they do.

The guys would have to masterbate, at least. I bet it’s covered in some NASA study.

To me, getting the sperm out is just as important as eating, drinking, and breathing.

If they’re up there for any amount of time, the guys are cranking a few out, when possible. I’m guessing in the restroom.

Body fluids, in microgravity, shift upwards in the human body, toward the head. This makes getting an erect penis almost impossible. They can’t masterbate and even if they tried, they would be messing up several medical observations the doctors here on earth are trying to do on them, inlcuding the macular problems (eye problems) that all male astronauts come back with. The eye problems have been one of the biggest and most pressing issues to solve. https://www.aao.org/eye-health/news/nasa-space-flight-impacts-astronauts-eyes-vision
If the men start trying to have sex or masturbate, they could increase the pressure on their eyes and cause more problems. They want to keep their blood pressure and other fluids under as calm and constant pressure as possible. It is a real problem when humans have no real gravity around them. I hope this helps, yours truly, your science correspondent, NerdyGirl Nidelva.

Vacuum pump for the record.

You don’t HAVE to have an erecting to ejaculate…

I’d go crazy fast if I couldn’t get it out.

It’s about blood pressure and fluid dynamics. Maybe this is why only male astonauts have this problem. Do the men jack off and risk blindness? All the more reason for only female Mars mission with frozen sperm.

If I were in outer motherfucking space blowing a wad would be the dead last thing on my mind.

MrGrimm888's avatar

@cazzie . Yrs,I believe men would risk blindness to get it out of their system.

I had trouble going 4 days on a cruise ship once. I was sharing a room with lots of people. Luckily I met a girl that helped me with my needs by day 6. I don’t think I would have made it 7 days. She allegedly had a boyfriend back home, but ‘couldn’t wait.’ The fact that she was so ‘willing, ’ makes me think women don’t like going several days without either.

The astronauts must use a cow milking device, or something. But there’s NO way they go 6 months without getting their sperm out… I wouldn’t believe that.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

No, it won’t make you go blind.

cazzie's avatar

Why do people with intense sex drives think everyone is like that? Everyone is different.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

I know or that it’s constant. One of my last jobs kept me stressed out enough that there was a two month period where I did not even think about it. I imagine spaceflight would be similar.

@MrGrimm888

Speak for yourself dude. Not all of us are constantly preoccupied with getting off.
