Ach. Well, it’s been a long, tough pull, but we’re close to having the house paid off, we have a $10,000 RV free and clear. The only other major debt is our Mountaineer on which we owe about $7,000. I have a handful of random bills, all <$500 to pay off.
To me, that’s pretty good considering all I’ve gone through to get here.

to what purpose?

I don’t have a lifestyle – I have a life. I have relative freedom now that my kids and husband are gone and I am financially secure at the moment. I try to maximize enjoyment of the arts and nature, spend time with good friends, have pleasant interactions with strangers and do more good than harm as I go through my day. Live music has become a big part of my life and there are a number of good local bands that I follow. I paint and write and am very active in my Unitarian congregation. And I support a number of progressive causes and organizations.

I travel quite a bit – often to see my kids and grandkids.

I live today the same I did for the first 30 years of my adult life which is still a cheapskate lifestyle. I don’t buy anything unless it is on sale. Simple, appreciative and giving at this point in my life.

The student life: classes, sleeping, and existential crisis when the exams come close. Meanwhile, studying.

I currently work as a pet and house sitter, property caretaker/security person for a women I was hired by a year or so ago and have one other client as well that keeps me pretty busy. I live on a 12 acre horse property just out of a good sized town and it is a very nice place to live. I have a pool side guest cottage and it is a very serene environment. Prior to this situation I maintained my own 5 acre abode for many years until the recession financially filleted me.

I enjoy a good measure of down time but then have extremely busy weeks as this month is shaping up to be. I like the country property but close to a good sized town just a few miles down the road. My life has become greatly simplified in the lat few years and all I’m after these days is my peace and serenity.

I don’t think “style” really applies.

I’m an average middle class white guy. Licensed professional engineer, married, no kids….except for a chihuahua. We live in the suburbs, I ride mountain bikes when the weather is good, hit the gym when it’s not. Sometimes I drink too much scotch. I tinker with stuff. Hyper normal, great place to be if you asked me.

I don’t know how to define “lifestyle”. How do you mean?

Fuck it, man. If you don’t want to answer the question, then just take a pass.

Shabby chic without the chic.
And dogs.

I mean I could, but us international playboy types are far too busy shagging & counting our wads of cash to bother with such trivial matters.

A decent lifestyle is what I’m fighting for at the moment. I’ve had a decent lifestyle before so I recognize that this particular one is more like exsisting. I’d call mine laissez-faire bordering on pointless.

I used to work for a huge insurance company that sold what we termed ‘Lifestyle’ packages.Along with other more important financial packages. This included memberships to elite golf courses, polo, hand gliding clubs and also special rates for luxury hotels (amongst other things).

To me, realistically a good lifestyle would mean being happy with my work, being healthy, enjoying friends and good social experiences. I’d also travel a bit more as places like Amsterdam and Holland are just over the road to me right now and there are tons of weekend breaks. A good healthy approach to life, like cycling, walking or gym regularly. That is what I am used to. I also love the outdoors, but not the ice cold outdoors. I don’t have these things right now. So I can’t say I have a lifestyle. So, not sure I should have answered the question?

Spend most of my days waiting for work to be over just to get home and spend most of my evening readying the next work day.

Like @Sneki95, I lead a student’s lifestyle: eating, sleeping, occasionally having fun, struggling with exams, and some part-time job.

There’s something different in my lifestyle compared with people around me though. First off, I’m here, while they are busy updating their Facebook. Second, I don’t follow their trend. I’m contented with my obsession for film noir and I don’t need to keep myself up-to-date with celebrities’ latest news. Third, I have an active inner life. It benefits my friends as well as they see me unleash my productive insanity on various things, from mindless fanfiction to read during class to class projects. I kind of leave a mark on anyone meeting me to the point that when they see an unusual class project, they say: “It’s that Mimishu1995 again!”

Retired. I watch 45–75 movies a month, do jigzaw puzzles and cryptic crosswords, attend to most of the kitchen duties, and occasionally go down to the Bay Area to see my kids and grandchildren.
I usually watch a lot of news, but I am decompressing after a painful election.

Forever in blue jeans, to quote Neil Diamond.

Great job, great relationship, living decently in one of the world’s greatest cities (NYC) and right this moment I got two Pandora stations programmed with an oddity of holiday music ranging from disco to cool jazz.

Got the normal issues and got over the striving for someone else’s definition of success after my third divorce. Life is good…

I have a good job with good bennies but I have a 50 mile commute which means 10 or more hours per day I’m out of the house. I am always running, it seems like. Always struggling to get stuff done like laundry, tidying up, etc. I’m a single mom and I’m financially comfortable so that’s great. I enjoy being alone, shopping alone, going to the movies alone. I also enjoy traveling with my child.

Life is a tossup between working, relaxing, running errands and trying to get in some hobbies.

I retired earlier this year after working for 54 years. I have spent most of this year travelling in Europe and China with my girlfriend. It has been fantastic. The next few months will be mostly solitary and I will do some cycling some hillwalking, some reading and planning the next adventure.
