Has anyone gotten the depo shot?

I had a girlfriend who was on the shot. After a couple of years she decided she didn’t like it. She believed that she gained weight and was moody as a result. She lost weight after discontinuing it, but I can’t say that her mood improved. :)

Yes, I’ve been on the Depo shot for a while- about a couple years and have had no problems at all. Not to mention it has also helped me with my mood, because I don’t get bad cramps anymore. Of course that’s my opinion and the Depo has a different affect on everybody. A friend of mine spotted for quite sometime and overall didn’t feel well. If you don’t like the side effects- just don’t take it when your up for the Depo and it will wear off after being on it for those three months. Its not for everyone.

I just got off it – it made me gain weight (rather quickly, and it was the only change in lifestyle – my weight had been set for years before it, I didn’t even gain weight in college) and though it stopped my period for the first two months, the last month was basically a constant drip. Gross.

(Seriously, three to four weeks of a pantyliner is no fun.)

actually i’m on the shot i dont really have any side affects…

Yep, I don’t know if it had any side effect. It was really convenient though. 1 shot every 3 months!
