Is Trump trying to get impeached?

Asked by cinnamonk (5402points) January 29th, 2017

Honest question. It seems like he is.

(I hope this doesn’t get modded ‘cause of the title.)

I don’t know King Trump thinks he has the world at his feet, the GOP love him the right wing red necks love him he doesn’t think he can do no wrong.

Cruiser's avatar

Asking if Mr Grabberpussy is trying to get impeached is hardly an honest question. Seriously? Is this the beginning of the Zombie apocalypse? Am I on Candid Camera??

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Petty, dumbass question if you asked me. He is doing what he said he would. 60% I disagree with “bigly”

cinnamonk's avatar

Looks like we got a couple of whiners in here.

if you don’t like the question, don’t answer. Don’t just answer to complain about the question.

My instinct says a part of him probably is, even if it’s not entirely conscious. I think he didn’t expect to actually be elected, and he partly (perhaps even mostly) hoped he wouldn’t. IIRC he had made comments about not thinking he’d want the job, and he was already preparing to whine forever after about how the election had been rigged to take it from him.

Of course, his standard spiel is to make a preposterous bombastic egotistical sensation in everything he does, so it could just be that.

However, I think he’s a highly dissociated narcissist, which usually includes subconscious elements wanting to be exposed and called to task. When the fake life becomes intolerable and there’s no way out, the shreds of agonizing humanity inside wish it would all explode, and subconsciously conspire to self-sabotage.

cinnamonk's avatar

which of the fluther guidelines do you suppose I have violated, @puddintane?

GA, @Zaku.

puddintane's avatar

Pussy in the title is NSFW.
The title is flamebait.

Multiple violations, Mam.

cinnamonk's avatar

It’s from the president’s own blessed mouth.

If my referring to his taped bragging about grabbing pussies offends you more than the fact that the president grabs pussies, then I’m so very sorry.

puddintane's avatar

You are cute. I’m not offended. I’m just going by the guidelines. Maybe you should read them.

cinnamonk's avatar

I consider it my solemn duty to remind people at every chance I get that the president is a sex offender.

puddintane's avatar

Thanks. Most of us were clueless. ~

I doubt Trump knows what presidential impeachment truly means or how the process works. But in any case, I’m sure his supreme sense of unimpeachability—not able to be doubted, questioned, or criticized—would prevent him from even conceiving the idea to cause his own impeachment.

Cruiser's avatar

@Pachy “But in any case, I’m sure his supreme sense of unimpeachability—not able to be doubted, questioned, or criticized—would prevent him from even conceiving the idea to cause his own impeachment.”,

I can’t remember the last time I was so razzle dazzled by such a comment I am overcome by the vapors…someone open a window please…

filmfann's avatar

No. He does something outrageous, then no one notices the sneaky shit getting done.

stanleybmanly's avatar

You’re asking whether or not Trump has an objective view of himself and his behavior. The man is clearly so wrapped up in his own self worship that speculation on his motivations or beliefs are a waste of time. Were you to confront him with such a question, he would hear it as “does God have a conscience?”

ucme's avatar

No, the media are driving this leftist rabble rousing ghost train until it derails itself on a barrier of truth.

flutherother's avatar

As others have said I’m not sure he really expected to get the job in the first place but he’s there and Trump is no quitter. Letting the world know he gropes women would have been suicidal for most but with Trump it may have been calculated. He knows his audience very well and it may have been an attempt to pre-empt women coming forward after he was voted in.

I think he grew up to be the CEO of a company, he’s always been the CEO of a company, and he has literally never had to answer to anyone for any of his stupid decisions. There’s always been a pile of money available to bail him out of any trouble he’s ever been in.

As CEO of a massive company he’s always been able to simply order his cronies and yes-men to do whatever he wanted, and either out of loyalty or fear they simply did so.

Now he finds himself the temporary employee of the American people.

He literally doesn’t know how to do “responsible for his actions”.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I think it’s a good question. I think perhaps he is going to see how much he can get away with, how much money he can make personally, and very quickly, before he’s booted out. He has NO other reason for being President, other than his own gain. And all this serious responsibility shit has him exhausted at this point (one week into it.)

Dutchess_III's avatar

@puddintane, the procedure here is to flag the Q if you REALLY think it violates standards, and then let the mod decide. Not your place to call her out.

puddintane's avatar

Why pick on me when others did the same? I am aware. I did flag. Maybe I’ve been here before and know the procedures and what the founders approve of. The original question read “Is Mr Grabberpussy trying to get impeached.” That was flame bait and NSFW.

Cruiser's avatar

I think the question as it now stands with the editing of the OP still is reflective of just how in shock many people are over Trump being our president that I believe you would want an impeachment hearing if he just shows up for work. To answer your question directly I am sure he is not doing things to invite impeachment.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I want an impeachment hearing when he breaks the law.

MrGrimm888's avatar

@puddintane . Your bitterness is quite transparent. I would guess you’ve been booted from the site before. Now you have returned under another name just to throw a tantrum. Surely you have something better to do with your time.

You’re disapproval is duly noted. If it’s SO awful, move on….

Dutchess_III's avatar

You know, I’m starting to rethink this. I think that maybe Trump honestly thinks he’s doing what the majority if Americans wanted him to do. He’s thinking how could he possibly get impeached?

Cruiser's avatar

@Dutchess_III Logical thought but also a fatal one that echoes the entire real reason Trump got elected. People like you thought you could second guess what he was doing/saying and more tragically thought you could predict what effect his words or actions would have on the outcome of the moment. Unpredictable barely scratches the surface of what and who Trump is. It is beyond futile to even attempt to even remotely characterize what he said, did or will do next. Many lessons should be learned about Trump from the Primaries…but AFAICT nobody has taken notes. Ad hominem attacks on Trump are like high wires to Godzilla….only gonna make him stronger.

cinnamonk's avatar

@Cruiser Trump got elected because 63 million people and more than half of the electoral college voted for him.

In spite of everything he has done and said. In spite of mocking the disabled, threatening to build a wall, threatening a ban Muslims from entering the country, bragging about grabbing pussies, knowing nothing about foreign diplomacy, and probably being a rapist. People voted for him.

Seek's avatar

^ and the rest of us have to live with those people. It’s… Gross.

Cruiser's avatar

@AnonymousAccount8 You obviously know little to nothing about me and to thusly lump me in your generalizations as to why anyone who voted for Trump in a disparaging manner only magnifies your lack of understanding as to how in hell he is now our President and why anyone who voted for Hillary is equally as clueless. I will leave it at that.

cinnamonk's avatar

@Cruiser I didn’t know you voted for Trump.

Dutchess_III's avatar

@Cruiser she didn’t even name you personally. She said, “people who voted.” Did she hit a nerve?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! She didn’t even know you voted for trump!

Cruiser's avatar

@Dutchess_III Get real…there is not a Jelly here who didn’t know ad nausem that I voted for Trump…another gullible moment.

Dutchess_III's avatar

She didn’t. Everybody thinks everybody knows stuff about us. We’re all self centered that way. But let’s say she did. She didn’t name you personally in her comment. You choose to lump yourself in.

cinnamonk's avatar

Regardless, I think it’s fair and more charitable to say that you did vote for Trump in spite of those qualities and behaviors, not because of them.

Dutchess_III's avatar

He voted for one reason, and one reason only. He has this idea that Trump will make small businesses, like his, make, or keep, more money. Time will tell.
He isn’t worried about the humanitarian aspect of his other policies. He chose to ignore those.

Cruiser's avatar

@AnonymousAccount8 “it’s fair and more charitable to say that you did vote for Trump in spite of those qualities and behaviors, not because of them.”

Very astute! +6

stanleybmanly's avatar

But it is such a risky bet getting around those qualities and behaviors.

stanleybmanly's avatar

For the life of me I do not understand how it is possible to recognize the man’s naked unsuitability, yet vote for him nonetheless. I might believe that my dog shares my outlook on many matters, but that does not qualify him to balance my checkbook, nor look after my taxes. Does it really matter that within a huge pile of impossible exaggerated promises, the checkbook and taxes are included?

flutherother's avatar

@stanleybmanly I agree. Trump is a man you would have reservations about if he moved in next door to your wife and family yet it was OK to put him in the White House!

Cruiser's avatar

@stanleybmanly You are making a fatal assumption and failing to recognize that the election was a Hobson’s choice and why the more invested voter made their choice. Pretty simple….cut and dried. Yes…Hillary was just that bad of a candidate that a Trump beat her. Bitter pill to swallow no doubt about it.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Again and again and again: Trump did NOT beat Hillary. He won the election, against the people’s choice.

Cruiser's avatar

“Trump did NOT beat Hillary. He won the election

Dutchess_III's avatar

He was not who the people choose.

Cruiser's avatar

@Dutchess_III All the “people” of each state voted and the popular vote winner in each state was then awarded electoral college votes assigned then to “people” real humans like you and I who were entrusted to cast their allotted votes in the electoral college vote. How is this process not representative of who the people chose? You seem OK that this very same process elected Obama in 2008 and 2012….so why does this same process in 2016 not work for you?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Don’t think that’s how it quite works @Cruiser. We lost out in 2000 too the same way. Gore would have been a MUCH better president than Bush. But Bush, as awful as he was, is far and away better than trump.

Cruiser's avatar

@Dutchess_III Can you please explain to me why you are then OK with Bush “stealing” the election from Gore but now not OK with Trump winning in identical fashion?

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Cruiser perhaps you have a point in the Hobson’s choice facing the electorate. But I put it to you that the failure to anticipate the consequences of turning the government over to an openly delusional lying sociopath calls into question the mental acuity of those responsible. The issue here isn’t about the severity of Clinton’s defects. It’s about the all but guaranteed crisis of government involved with the installation of psychopath.

Cruiser's avatar

@stanleybmanly I will again lay bare the Hobson’s Choice we were afforded. On one hand we had Reality TV Shit on a shingle or Establishment Politics Shit on a shingle. We all know who won and I will argue the voters who voted for the Reality TV Shit on the Shingle were the more astute voter.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Oh, @Cruiser. You say that, flying in the face of all the shit he’s pulled just in his first two weeks?

I wasn’t OK with the Gore/Bush things. But I didn’t freak out because I didn’t think he could, or would, do much bad for the country. He was just a puppet. Trump is a far different story. He wants to be the puppet master and he has no clue what he is doing. None. He’s dangerous. Bush was meek.

flutherother's avatar

The choice then was do you believe in Trump or do you believe in Hillary.
The choice now is do you believe in Trump or do you believe in America.

Cruiser's avatar

@flutherother Believing in Trump is believing in America.

Seek's avatar

Because when I think of a fascist, narcissistic fuckwad turning away freedom-seekers at the door, I think America.

flutherother's avatar

You’ve got it wrong @Cruiser America was set up to be more than just the president.

Dutchess_III's avatar

America isn’t for that @seek.

stanleybmanly's avatar

So is anyone surprised or disappointed in our new President? Clearly, he’s in for a lot of dancing in the Federal courts. I expect the judicial branch to slap his silly ass senseless. This poorly thought out & clumsily executed ban on travel was the sort of misstep you would think his minions would warn him against. Perhaps Trump has been inflicted upon us in order that he and those who love him receive the civics lessons he missed in his lifetime of beauty pageants & firing folks.

Cruiser's avatar

@flutherother Really? Gosh gee willikers!?! In what way is Trump not our savior of everything?

Dutchess_III's avatar

^^^ In every way.

Great post @stanleybmanly.
