Using a Firefox shortcut in Safari?

Asked by chromaBYTE (652points) August 10th, 2008

I am a long time firefox user, but I do use Safari often when on the family’s mac. I quite like it, however one little issue I have is losing the shortcut of Ctrl+Enter when entering a URL to finish it off with “www.” at the start and ”.com” at the end. Also using Shift for ”.net” and Ctrl+Shift for ”.org”.

My question is, is it possible at all to get these shortcuts or something similar over to Safari, via an app or something similar?

It’s quite a silly nonissue, but it bugs me…

Safari will automatically add the “www” and ”.com” As to the the others, I do not know.

Just hit enter normally, and it will add the www. and .com. Using option or control does other things, like downloading the file or opening a new tab.

Besides, once you’ve typed in a URL once, it will automatically complete it for you as you did the last time.
