Is there a quick way to change the default settings on Google Calendar?

i started using google calendar for work. the program seems to be set up so that the default meeting time is always 1 hour, but our interviews are 30 min slots. Can I change default settings so that everything is assumed to be 30 min? Otherwise I need to schedule it and then go into "change settings" for each interview, which takes a lot longer.

If you're looking at the main calendar when you add an event you can drag how long you want it to last.

Click and drag in the timeslot you want (if that makes sense). You can then select only one 30 min timeslot.

Once you get the hang of that you can add events very fast.
