What's your favorite video hosting site?

Asked by MrMontpetit (1843points) August 31st, 2008

By video hosting site I mean sites like LiveVideo, Youtube, Vimeo, Metacafe, etc. Most people are going to say Youtube, because it is the most popular, but I want to hear peoples opinions. Personally my favorite is Youtube, even though the interface looks terrible. For looks, I’d go with Vimeo, because the interface is amazing. The only reason I don’t use Vimeo as often as I use Youtube, is because a lot of the people I subscribe too and love their videos, don’t go on Vimeo. So yeah, whats your favorite?

I like the power and flexibility of Splashcast.net. Great for building a temple of media that reflects your personality. Learning the site wasn’t hard, but building categories (channels) for your media is a little trickier. That said, it allows for great depth of content and a great interface for viewers.

Never heard of that one before. I’ll check it out. Thanks!

I like YouTube because of it’s variety and it’s sheer user base. Vimeo is lovely though for finding some top quality videos, from simple blogs to lovely art pieces or music videos. That’s because of it’s support for HD and such, it’s just nice to use to :)

Yeah I also love Vimeo for its TRUE HD. Way better than even the high quality videos on Youtube.

VIMEO. OMG ITS LIKE THE MAC COMPUTER OF THE VIDEO SHARING SITES. It looks amazing and the quality is just yummy gorgeous. I feel like I want to eat the screen. It has less users but has so much more features and is just more user friendly. More customizable.

Youtube works for me. I dislike some of the aspects of the site… You hear horror stories about how certain users get their videos taken off the site for copyright infringement without the videos being properly evaluated. And there are users of the site that are there just to hate on other members. Despite all this, I stick around because it’s the most accessible and widely-used.

I’m really happy with blip.tv

I like YouTube best, because the comments there are always so insightful. /s

Real answer: I don’t use video hosting personally, but whenever I see that a video is hosted on Vimeo, it automatically commands an extra degree of respect.

I really like Vimeo and Viddler for their ease-of-use and general absence of inane comments ;-)

You could use “tubemogul” to post a video to all-most all of the widespread video hosts (as long as you have an account at that host).

Vimeo – great interface, great user experience.

Google Video is pretty good. It has more videos. Like, if YouTube doesn’t allow some, or you aren’t old enough to see a certian video, normally Google Video has it. I do personally like YouTube, but doens’t everyone?
