What are the people from Turks & Caicos Islands called?

Asked by BronxLens (1539points) September 7th, 2008

I was reading this morning on Hurricane Ike hitting some Caribbean islands, including the UK territory of Turks & Caicos Islands which got me thinking about my question. The CIA Fact book shows “none” under Nationality’s noun and adjective. The first link above shows under the People entry “Turks & Caicos Islanders”. Would that be it?

Well at various times in the past they’ve almost been called Canadian but that union has never happened. Anyway, there is no demonym for them supposedly and the alternate that you mention is what they’ve got on there too. However, if I were tasked with making up a demonym for them I’d borrow from Barbados a bit and call them Turk-Caicians.

PaulC, thank you as well. The link to the Demonys will be referenced often by yours truly.
