More emo vamp crap on TV with a twist: Its on pay TV. Now kids can beg parents for HBO (when was the last time they cared?) and juke up young viewership in time for their holiday-themed movie round up that most adults ignore.

I actually liked it. My wife is a fan of the book series and got me to watch the first episode last Sunday. It feels like it’ll be a pretty good series.

I liked it alot. I found it unusually funny considering I was expecting it to be emo vamp crap. The romance plot line seemed corny, but I’m sure that will get better after they establish their relationship. I liked the whole non-vampire mind reading aspect, that can get interesting. The comedy aspect reminded me a little of Tarinto’s “Dusk ‘till Dawn” type humor just not as dry. I’m gonna watch this one.
P.S. Fringe was pretty good as well

It was okay but I didn’t love it. Best new show so far is Sons of Anarchy on FX….

I actually liked it too. Have you been to the site on hbo.com? Wow, they really spent alot of time on this. I think its going to be an interesting show, maybe not the best show out there but it certainly was entertaining. I thought it was strange that they setting was in a small town in Louisiana….

I’m liking it so far. The first show or so has to be the setup for the rules and how things are going to work in this world. There are a lot of potentially cool elements here. I already like several characters. I like the ambiguous nature of our lead character. What is she that she can do what she does? I like that people know about vampires and have mixed feelings about them. I like the idea of people trying to take advantage of vampires as well as the other way around. There are a lot of interesting storytelling elements here. I look forward to this one.

i liked it. it will be interesting to see the relationship between the lead and the vampire. also, it was quite a sex scene for tv (even tho it’s HBO it’s still tv). i am curious to read the book now.

Well, for an HBO series, it’s no Deadwood or Rome. I’m in a wait and see mode. I liked the first episode well enough, but I’m not sure I’ll get hooked on it. I am going to give it a chance, though. As for Fringe…eh, I skipped out on it about 3/4 of the way through. Not nearly as well done as Tru Blood.

I didn’t get a chance to see it. I heard from coworkers that it is good but I am waiting for Dexter on Showtime.

Absolutely love it! But then I’ve read all the books, so I may be a little biased. ;)

Wife and I are really enjoying it, not read any of the books but based on what I’ve seen online its pretty close to them (and they were widely praised).

I am now addicted to this show and I’m really sad that the season is already almost over. But I’ll be looking out for season 2!
