Why is Halo 3 the best game ever?

Sorry, but it’s just too hard to pretend that Halo 3 is better than Call of Duty 4.

The fact that you have never played Katamari Damacy or Pokémon Snap.

Enough of this pretending. Half-Life is far superior. Halo just didn’t have the storyline I was looking for. Sorry.

Call of Duty 4 gets old—FAST. It’s not original. There are so many games just like that (same guns, types of maps, “player types”). Plus, the multiplayer is probably 60% camping.

Halo 3 just goes on forever. There are so many unique gun types, hundreds of more options (i.e. Forge [mapmaker]), and MUCH better maps.

@chutterhanban I agree that War games like COD4 have been overdone, and I also agree with the uniqueness of Halo. I play both, and I like the Forge in Halo, but I still like the realism and gameplay in COD4 a lot better. It is overdone, but there’s a good reason it is over done, because people like it that way. But whatever, we all have our own opinions.

Ive never played Halo 3 before. I did complete the original Halo and it was the best game i ever played. Call of Duty 4 ranks right up there in my opinion.

I think Halo 2 was/is better than Halo 3.

I can tell you what makes it a shitty game. Console fps.

Halo 1 was fun because my husband and I could play on the same team and we were not trying to kill each other. Sort of creeped my adult children out though.

I have to go for COD4 also. I am still playing it after almost a year.

I am a Halo fanboy, but I have to say no. Even though it BEASTS CALL OF DUTY IN ALMOST EVERYWAY (yes I have both) but its hard to say whether any game is the best because they all have strengths and weaknesses and every gamer is different.

By he way, I got half way through Half-life 2 before I quit out of boredom.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the GREATEST game ever.

In truth I belive there is no such thing as the “best game” let alone the “best game ever.” Every game has a fault of some type, whether its graphics, gameplay, story, AI, lack of multiplayer, ect… on top of that if a “best game” were to ever exist at some point even it would become outdated and inferior to newer “better” games.

all that aside I do enjoy playing halo3 almost every day, but I am very excited for the realse of fable two in 9days 11hours

Halo 3 not only doesn’t sacrifice in any of the mentioned areas, but it excels.

Graphics: it’s on 360 and has great detail and creativity
Gameplay: with the type of weapons, ability to melee, jumping, it’s very unique and never gets old
Story: it’s hard to find a better story in the realm of gaming. it’s so intricate and interesting.
Multiplayer: probably its strongest suit and when combined with XBox live, it won’t get old for years

That being said, I know someone will still say it’s not the greatest game ever, but it really is top-of-the-line in all of those areas!

I agree that Halo 3 is a great game, but it’s not my favorite. When people say “It’s the best game ever” what they mean is that it’s their favorite game. Everybody has different favorite games, so this question would be better stated “Is Halo 3 your favorite game? If yes, why? If no, why not?”

Halo 3 may have the Graphics and gameplay, though I do not entirely on it having a strong story line but eventually, whether its 30 days from now or 30 years from now, eventually they will become out-dated. Halo just doesnt have what it takes to become a timeless classic like Mario or Zelda, and even they cannot be considered the “best game ever.”
