What can you find vegetarian marshmellows?

Asked by AstroChuck (37609points) October 11th, 2008

They used to carry them at the local natural food co-op but now have stopped carrying them. I’ve looked onlne but so far have been unlucky. Can anyone help me?

I found some online… I just tried looking for the website and I can’t find that one specifically, but there are plenty out there.

Please help. I’ve looked. I wish I could remember the company that made the ones I used to buy.

I was about to tell you that I love you, Hippie, but sadly, cosmosveganshoppe says they are out of stock.

You can try making some yourself, if all else fails. My sister is vegan and she shops at this local shop, and they have this:

Yay? Nay? Maybe?

This requires you to make your own, but that’d be cool too :0)

You guys are all great! Thanks! More, more, more! Lurve for all.

I have to admit that this is just another reason I couldn’t be a vegetarian…I’m far too lazy to search high and low or make my own marshmallows!

AstroChuck's avatar

I just don’t see how anyone could be anything other than vegetarian. The thought of animal flesh in my mouth… bleech!

augustlan's avatar

I truly wish I felt that way…it’d be so much better for me and the animals. I admire those with the will and the fortitude. AC, were you always a vegetarian?

AstroChuck's avatar

Alas, no. I was once a filthy animal eater such as yourself. The clouds opened up and the sun shone upon me 18 and 1/2 years prior.
It’s never to late, sister. Repent!

Now to share a site with anyone else interested. I just found this.
Thanks again to everyone that sent me these great websites. Now I’m off to the store for some graham crackers and chocolate.

$6.00 for 16–18 marshmallows?

If you were forced to cut back during a tough economy, could you ever stop being a vegetarian?

The “Cadillac Marshmallow”, lol

Is it ok that they contain gelatin (beef or pork derived)?

AstroChuck's avatar

No. That’s the entire point. No gelatin = vegetarian.

augustlan's avatar

That’s what I thought…the ones on the site you linked do have gelatin!

AstroChuck's avatar

Holy Shit! sorry I found that link connected to a site on vegan foods! I gotta go now and brush my teeth again!

augustlan's avatar

Hope we caught it before you ordered them…if not, send them to me!
