Who believes in Pre-Wrath Rapture rather than Pre-Trib rapture.

Asked by watchman220 (421points) October 14th, 2008

Does anyone even care that the Bible talks about how we will suffer under the persecution of antichrist and a one world government?
Pre-wrath rapture means Christians will be persecuted by antichrist but delivered from God’s Wrath.
Pre-Trib Rapture means that people believe CHristians will be raptured before the last seven years of history even begin.

As long as it doesn’t screw up the World Series I’m fine with either one.

Do I care that your bible talks about this?

Nope.

Is this a thinly veiled reference to Obama as the anti-christ?

I think a one world government is beyond our lifetimes, so no worries either way.

I would not venture to say who the antichrist is. The bible does say there are many antichrists as the spirit of antichrist is in the world already.
I don;t like Obama, no lie…I think he is a socialist and that is not how I want our country to go…but hey…overall we are headed towards globalization anyway…it is prophesied that this will happen. So he will probably help that along it’s merry way to the last days.

The world banks are bailing out all the countries that matter in the global financial system. Governments even in the USA are nationalizing (partially) the biggest banks. They will have a vested interest in their success, therefore since we have now opened the door to government’s biggest bailout ever, instead of letting the free and bloated market correct itself at the cost of these arrogant greedy bastards, (Republicans and Democrats alike.), the governments will be ever more ready to coalesce into an ever deeper union for the “benefit” of humanity no doubt.

This can only lead to a one world government…which scripture speaks of. WHo know how far off that really is. Until then I will keep working and takign care of my family and trying to get out of debt and off of credit dependence.

It only matters to those who believe your bible is more than it is.
You think your bible will provide you with ultimate salvation, but you won’t really know until the very end. What if you’re wrong?

watchman220's avatar

If I am wrong than I am of all men most miserable. If I am right then I have lived a moral life, and tried to make the world a better place, and I have gained eternal life.

AstroChuck's avatar

Good luck with that.

@ watchman – Can you provide passage and verse references for the one world government and the anti-christ? Wasn’t the anti-christ supposed to have three horns and six eyes or something?

Given that, isn’t it more likely that the anti-christ would be some type of alien life form that arrives here and tries to enslave the world? I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Obama, and that description is a bit off.

However, I am a bit rusty and am headed to bed, so if you have passage and verse, that would help, I’m sure.

If the Bible is the exact word of God shouldn’t it be real clear and easy to understand? I mean God must have a way with words being the creator of language and all.

Fireside,

The horns and beasts are from the vision of Daniel and are not literal beasts or horns but represent kingdoms.

Daniel 7:7
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Daniel Asks the Angel the meaning of the vision.

Daniel 7:19

Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Notice in particular verse 23 the beast/kingdom devours the whole earth.
During that time of devouring as well, the mark of the beast is instituted. If you are interested in more details about this future prophesied period of time. Read Daniel. Read Revelation. Read Matthew 24. Those are good starting points.

AstroChuck,

How easy does it need to be? Any serious seeker of God has found answers in God’s Word. It makes a lot more sense than some of the sciences I have studied. God has been able to preserve His Word for thousands of years. It is the most widely preserved, and most widely read book in the world. We have more ancient manuscripts of this book than any other book in the world.
In order to understand it, you need to read it.

The bible says that “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17

So I would tell it to you.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

So I am not ashamed to preach to you the gospel of Jesus Christ. Nor to proclaim that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and salvation. I know the way I preach is narrow. But it’s true.
You have a choice to believe.
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

After you have received the gift of faith you will naturally seek those things that are deeper in His Word. In fact you will find that God does have a way with words. He has put it into a format that no one can deny, he prophesied of the events which would come.
Many events are already fulfilled. LIke the return of the Jews to their homeland after they were dispersed all over the world. This is a huge theme of prophecy in Old Testament scriptures. The diaspora of the Jews happened in 70 AD when the Jewish Temple was destroyed, and more in 135 AD after another Jewish revolt.
And now in 1948 the Jews again inherit their homeland as the bible prophecied would happen.

That is pretty clear to me. It just does not happen by osmosis. You have to study like a good student.

This is my take on all this rapture stuff. I’ll read the Bible with a goal of knowing Jesus’ heart. I want to recognize him when he comes and the best way I can do that is to study what he has said and know him now. He himself said that we won’t know the hour and day that he will return so being pre- millennial or post millenial really does not effect the way I will be. I will try to e like Jesus, treating all people with respect and compassion so I will recognize him when he comes.

He watchman,
Talking about sending a chill down your spine (a reference to Cindy McCain) I remember getting a chill down my spine several years ago listening to G. Bush senior referring to “A New World Order.” Hey, I thought he was supposed to be God’s candidate?
And don’t forget, heaven is not a socialist or a capitalist government, it’s a monarchy. (I am proud to serve the King of kings by the way)
