SpatzieLover's avatar

I’m watching McCain lose his blood pressure, right now! Enjoying each moment…Other than the “my friends” part that is.

El_Cadejo's avatar

WHY ARE OBAMAS ADDS SO NEGATIVE!!?!

mccain=fail

jlm11f's avatar

i think McCain needs to start crying. I loved it when Obama said “we aren’t here to talk about hurt feelings”. zing.

SuperMouse's avatar

I’m trying to watch it, but it is so frustrating!

SoapChef's avatar

OMG This is the most appalling display of HYPOCRISY I have ever witnessed!

jrpowell's avatar

Damn. I decided that I would drink every time McCain lied. This is going to get ugly.

judochop's avatar

oh my lord. McCain is such a crybaby asshole.

jlm11f's avatar

there are some really good Qs in this debate. who came up w/ them?

judochop's avatar

sarah palin is a role model for women? Since when? She handled our largest state with the least amount of people in it! And wait a second. Did McCain just say he fought to get rid of the croonies?

jlm11f's avatar

Um. I really want Obama to point out the billion ways that Palin is unfit for the job. Least of which is that SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT A VP does. also, since when do people consider a woman who wants to charge for rape kits as a “role model” ?

El_Cadejo's avatar

@PnL she was just joking duhhhhhhhh dont you remember that.

SoapChef's avatar

I think Obama is letting this bs get under his skin a little. I don’t know how he has kept his composure to this point. I too, am sorry that he felt he had to handle the Sarah factor with kid gloves.

SuperMouse's avatar

McCain just used the word “cockamammie,” you gotta hand it to a guy who can use the word cockamammie in a presidential debate. Next I am hoping for defenestrate.

@Judochop and PnL, I’m with you on the “role model for women point.” Really? I’m a woman. I am a mother. I am very close to her age. That woman is no more of a role model to me than Ronald McDonald.

McCain’s statement about her special needs son was exploitive and annoying. Does she really think the best thing to do for this child is leave him for endless hours on the campaign trail slinging mud? Sorry, I’m not convinced.

SoapChef's avatar

Unfortunately SM, there is a bunch of people that eat that “stuff” up.

SoapChef's avatar

The last president that restricted trade and raised taxes was Clinton, not Hoover.

Does joe the plumber hang out with joe sixpack?

janbb's avatar

Who’s Joe College gonna vote for?

judochop's avatar

joe the plumber hangs with joe six pack at the same bar but I don’t think they know eachother.

judochop's avatar

will 5000 be enough to buy me health insurance if I am a diabetic?

judochop's avatar

what do you think they are drawing there in their notebooks? I bet it’s Joe.

El_Cadejo's avatar

WHAT THE FUCK IS HE TALKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW!?!

SoapChef's avatar

The 5K is for a couple or family. He’s giving 2500K per single person. I can’t buy health insurance for that.

SuperMouse's avatar

@Uber, I’m pretty sure they are cousins. Sixpack is married to Sally Housecoat – she hyphenates her name – goes by Sally Housecoat-Sixpack. Joe the Plumber is married to Rosie the Riveter, she hyphenates too, making her name Rosie the Riveter-the Plumber. They are all distantly related to Joe Cool, but they only see him at the family reunions.

@Judo how about if you are disabled? Or have a child with Down’s Syndrome? Excellent question.

jlm11f's avatar

McCain just did an air quote. That worries me.

Allie's avatar

Air quotes around scared. I guess that means Obama wasn’t scared?

El_Cadejo's avatar

whats that?! McCain talking out of line again? What a shocker.

hoosier_banana's avatar

Who doesn’t like education? Fire those bad teachers!

El_Cadejo's avatar

Lets exploit children with autism some more. Pathetic.

Allie's avatar

McCain just did a nervous jig. Ho down in the back!!!

Trance24's avatar

I did. McCain is like a three year old has to get in his word when he wants to. “Now now the other man is talking wait your turn…” Like come on. And the fact that he is so aggressive in all the wrong ways just makes him look worse.

fireside's avatar

You guys must not have been watching the CNN graphs. Just the mention of Sarah Palin made the Men’s opinion poll rise.

dalepetrie's avatar

I saw the debate, and I have to say, lurve for the tag “talking out of his ass”

augustlan's avatar

I watched…I about puked when Palin was called a role model for women. Not this woman, that’s for damn sure! McCain probably held his own, though, he looked like this at times. I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel keeping his eyes open like that.

arnbev959's avatar

blink blink

McCain’s make up was terrible. It was especially noticeable when the camera showed closeups of both of them together. My mother said he looked like a corpse. I wouldn’t go that far, but he was really pale.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@augustlan the lemur is better heh

augustlan's avatar

@uber: You always find the best video!

dalepetrie's avatar

So, I want to get anyone’s opinion on this who wants to chime in. Does John McCain really think you’ve got a gold-plated Cadillac health care plan if it covers transplants? Did he really mean to say hair transplants or something, or is he saying, you need a new liver, fuck you, buddy!

augustlan's avatar

Pretty sure he meant hair transplants…he’s used that one before. Frankly, I didn’t think any insurance covered that!

dalepetrie's avatar

Who knows for sure? He thinks you can buy health insurance for a family for 5 grand a year! I administer the benefits for my company…my family of 3, the company pays 12 grand a year, EXACTLY the # Obama quoted. And that’s a GROUP rate. I can’t even imagine what an individual rate would be for me, especially when I’m diabetic and my wife has a thyroid problem, and my son has had physical and occupational therapy for a fine motor delay? First off, I couldn’t FIND insurance on the private market, and second, if I DID, it would run me $40,000 a year (just about my entire take home), whereas right now, you know that $2,500 a year the typical family is going to save? Yeah, that’s about the amount I have deducted from my checks. So, I can have health care for free under Obama’s plan, or an extra 30 grand or so under McCain? And if I am going to get a plan where I can’t say have a pancreas transplant if it should ever come to that, I think that’s the definition of adding insult to injury.

augustlan's avatar

@dale: I’m with you on that one. I have kidney disease, thyroid disease, fibromyalgia and asthma. I take 8 prescription medications daily, and even with group health insurance my medical costs are sky high. I don’t think I could possibly afford a policy on my own, and may indeed be uninsurable on my own!

dalepetrie's avatar

Yes, definitely a debate that isn’t had enough. You would indeed be denied coverage by most insurance plans…if not all. Obama explained it well…if you’re young and healthy, and you’re getting a $5000 a year tax credit to go out and get your own health insurance, you can do better on the private market than a group plan. So, all the healthy people save money by going into the private market, all that’s left is sick people, and next time your health insurance comes up for renewal, your company’s rates triple, the owner says, we can’t afford that, suddenly no renewal, you’re on your own…because after all you can get health care on the open market and you get a tax credit. And like Obama also pointed out, it’s all regulated state to state, so all these insurance companies which may be required to insure anyone based on their state’s laws are going to be bankrupted by this, so to avoid that, they’re all going to move their operations to states where there are no such requirements (because McCain will let you cross state lines to buy insurance), and the 47 million uninsured will be 147 million uninsured within 2 years. But hey, we’ll have $5 grand per family, which will just about cover my drugs for a month.

augustlan's avatar

Oh, yeah. McCain’s plan suuuccckks for people like us!
