my foolishness

I try not to stand out. I watch the normies and do what they do so I don’t attract attention. Even good attention can turn into bad attention when you open “your damn mouth” (as they’re as like to tell me as not).

stevenb's avatar

My heart, and my family.

What makes you so damn special.

jlm11f's avatar

Nothing really. But what do you think makes you special? I already know why you are special, but I want to know what you think about it

edit – @stevenb, jinx!

breedmitch's avatar

I’m a maverick.

boxing's avatar

Geez, even if I am special, I don’t have to be damned…

autumn43's avatar

My brownies. To die for! LOL!

susanc's avatar

Breed and I are actually a team of mavericks. Now that’s special.

I say hi to everybody. It takes me half an hour to walk back to my dorm from class cuz I have to talk to at least five people and say hi to a dozen or so more. Drives my roommate CRAZY. :)

eatmunky's avatar

I looked my name up in the US census, and I am the only John Wiesenfeld in the United States.

cyndyh's avatar

I have weird feet.

squirbel's avatar

Actually, I try not to. Blending in and being very unnoticed is great.

syz's avatar

I don’t care what the crowd thinks of me.

shadling21's avatar

I’m always dancing.

Yes, even in my sleep.

fireside's avatar

I tend to avoid crowds, so maybe some mild form of claustrophobia?

Knotmyday's avatar

I am Spartacus.

poofandmook's avatar

I’m probably the only tattooed and pierced 25 year old on the planet who crochets…?

rowenaz's avatar

When my daughter was born my husband was cleaning her tush, and said, “MY GOD!! SHE’S GOT YOUR BUTT CRACK!!” Sorry to be so graphic, but yes, it’s true. I can’t explain it any more than that, so let’s just leave it at that!! However, unless we were at a nudist camp or skinny dipping, I don’t think I would “stick out in a crowd!!”

Let the imaginations run wild…...

cyndyh's avatar

No, poof, I’ve known several.

KatawaGrey's avatar

Perhaps the locations of the piercings make you a unique pierced and tattooed crochet-er?

cookieman's avatar

280 pounds of girth.

breedmitch's avatar

@cprevite: Please tell me you’re 6 feet, 6 inches tall.

cookieman's avatar

6’1” I’m afraid.

breedmitch's avatar

I can live with that. I was afraid you were going to say 5 feet, 8 inches and female.

cookieman's avatar

@breedmitch: Nope, just football player sized metrosexual dad.

KatawaGrey's avatar

Lurve for using “football player” and “metrosexual” in the same sentence.

Thanks KatawaGrey.

I am just a ray of sunshine! ; )

I think I’m kinda awesome but as a friend and many others before him have said:
“there is something about the way you word shit that is so slpendid” -copied and pasted as is. But standing out in a crowd? I’m basically the same color scheme as this girl.

@poof: My brother. You two should meet. :) He also knitted clothes for my Barbies whenwe were kids..

augustlan's avatar

@asmonet: You and I share(ed) a color scheme! Though as I’ve aged, my red is not nearly so vivid anymore. I am a “word shitter” as well…are we related?

asmonet's avatar

Quite possibly! It would be an honor, for serious. :)

I’m naturally blonde, but I dye it cherry red, lucky me it matches well and because I’m blonde it turns out with natural high/lowlights, I get asked all the time if I’m Irish. If only. I’m pretty in love with red hair, I like my boys ginger and I envy the girls. :)

deaddolly's avatar

My tantalizing personality and drop dead gorgeous good looks.

And the fact that I smile easily and laugh a lot. And am a tattooed, alternative looking freak.

jca's avatar

i am one crazy bitch.

I tend to put the most generous interpretation on events, motives, etc. People around me appreciate that. Some would call it denial; I call it optimism and good coping mechanism so as not to stew over things one can’t control.

science_girl89's avatar

I don’t think I’m special. Maybe, it’s just that I’m too weird to be special. Nobody I know thinks I’m special, I just moved, and I don’t have any friends here… maybe I’m special because I’m lonely, I don’t ever seem to fit in, I’m the awkward leftover piece your dad has leftover when he’s done putting an appliance together.

augustlan's avatar

@sciencegirl: If it makes you feel any better, I always save those peices. I figure they’re important, even if I don’t know why just yet…perhaps you’ll find out why you’re special in time : ) Also, welcome to Fluther.

cyndyh's avatar

@science_girl89: I moved across the country a little over a year and a half ago. I was in my old city/state for more than 20 years. I’ve made a few friends in my new home, but it’s nothing like having people who have known you for decades. It does get easier, though. You’ll fit when they need things to work properly. :^> I’d, also, like to extend a welcome to Fluther.
