In a formal table setting, should water be placed on the left or on the right?

when u go to a fine dining restaurant, should your water glass be on the left above the fork or the right above the knife?

Water (and wine) glasses should be placed to the right, above the knife (see Step 6).

hahaha...I meant I thought it was to the left! Double oops!

On the right. But I always shift mine to the left – not to confuse the waiter – but because I am left handed.
