In Bridge CS3, why can't I get jpeg images to just open in Photoshop?

Asked by damien (2399points) October 23rd, 2008

In the File Type Associations section of Bridge prefs, I have jpeg set to open in Photoshop yet when I double-click on a jpeg, it opens it in Bridge’s camera raw editor rather than Photoshop.

Any ideas as to what could be going on?

If you clicked on the option I think you clicked on, you selected the option to “Open JPEGs as RAWs” with the RAW files plug in. I made the same mistake when I first started using RAW files and JPEGs. Try turning off that option, then opening the jpeg, it should just open in Photoshop.
If it doesn’t let me know, I we can go from there.

Ahhh! I feel a bit dumb now. ;) I was too busy going through the File Type Associations to notice that option!

Thanks jtvoar16.
