Fresh strawberries. Very classic. Very delicious.

Nothing? I mean all the fruit toppings are good and all, but if its a really good angel food cake, id rather eat it by itself so i can really savor the flavors of the cake itself.

my grandmother used to make angel food cake in a bundt pan, and then she cut it across, with the bottom half being a bit bigger than the top. Then she dug a trench of cake out of the bottom, mixed those pieces with instant chocolate pudding, put that back into the trench, put the top on, and iced it with cool whip. I do that now and it’s still my favorite cake ever.

Thanks poof for that recipe. I will certainly try it.

it defeats the purpose of angel food, but it doesn’t matter it’s so good! Just make sure you don’t dig out to the bottom or through the sides :)

It’s not really a topping, but my favorite way to eat angel food cake is dipped in chocolate fondue (along with some really good fruit, and maybe a marshmallow or two…)

I’ve got a great recipe if you want it – I’ll see if I can find it and post it later…

@EmpressPixie don’t forget to put those fresh strawberries in a luscious layer of
“cool-whip”.

My saliva.
Of course first I like to see some fresh strawberries and some whipped cream on top.

Chow mein.

I’m not much of a sweet tooth…

fresh strawberries with whipped creme. Or cubed, dip angel food in fondue chocolate.

There is some recipe with low-fat chocolate pudding and whipped cream, it’s really good. I don’t know it, but might be worth looking up.

black forrest cake!

Strawberries would be my answer, too. However, my friend’s mom used to put pink frosting on it. Well, it was more like a pink glaze of some sort, but it was really good.

Brush with amaretto, top with whipped cream.

Mix crushed pieces of your favorite candy in cool whip and use it to coat your cake. Garnish it with extra on top for presentation.
