Can I hide my play in Madden '08?

When I’m playing with someone else is there a way to hide which play I pick? The older Madden games had different buttons for different plays but this one just has x as choose play.

you can hold the a button on a play and move the selector and call a “fake play” and it will run the play you selected when you started to hold the a button.
Or you can press one of the triggers and the plays will become corresponding buttons on the controller.
