How do I get my Panasonic DVD-S43 to play back DIVX?

I have another DVD player that will play back .avi files when I burn them to cd or DVD, but when I try it with the DVD-S43, I just get a blue screen. Any ideas?

Not all DVD players are created equal. ie. some play mp3's some don't I find the cheaper one preform more funfuctions actually. Check the outside of the box it will tell you it capabilities.

Got it figured - I was recording the .avi onto a DVD -R disc, which it turns out this this player does not read. I tried it on a R disc andit works like a dream. Thanks for the answer.
