Favorite inspirational quotes?

Asked by jsc3791 (1988points) November 3rd, 2008

Without being cheesy or trite – I’d like to include a quote on the card I am sending with some flowers to a friend.

Her father has been in the hospital and I wanted to brighten her day with some pretty flowers for her desk.

What are some of your favorite quotes or sayings on hope, life, coping, etc?

A search of the web yeilds nothing that really strikes me.

So once again I am turning to the collective!

How about,“No matter how tall the mountain, it cannot block out the sun”.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light , not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make and manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

with every death askew there is yet life being born anew, with every loss suffered, there is victory bought, with every dream shattered, there is always yet one that truly mattered. The one that does is yet your own, for no one known can take it, that dream you bear….is yours alone – Wrestlemaniac3(me)

“Finding Faith in a Flower”

Sometimes when faith is running low
And I cannot fathom why things are so
I walk alone among the flowers I grow
And learn the answers to all I would know!

For among my flowers I have come to see
Life’s miracle and its mystery
And standing in silence and reverie
My faith comes flooding back to me.
