I just realized that I don’t have any idea how long Fluther has been around. When was Fluther launched?
How long have you been a member of the community?
What are your reasons for staying?

Andrew and Ben have been members since October 15th, 2006. So that’s probably the first day. We had our 2 year anniversary recently!
Edit – I realized I never answer the title Q. I’ve been here since May 20th, 2008 and still hooked. i was told the honeymoon period would be over by now…all lies!

I stick around because I am waiting for Riser to come back.
Only since April 19th of this year. Sometimes it seems much longer. I stay for the occasional spirited discussion, for the interesting people, and the addiction fix.
My account says since, April 22nd….but I definitely signed up in August or September.
I stay because I’m a lurve whore. Also, the spirited debates. Oh, and the charming little jelly below me currently crafting a response…

But I really only remember being active for the past month or so.
August 2008, I was a refugee. At first learning the language was difficult and some of the natives weren’t thrilled but you know that refugees can add to the community.
I’ve been here for about 2 weeks now and I’m a transplant from another website called AV (for short).
I have to say that Fluther is one of the most laid back, comfortable, easy going, entertaining, and engaging websites I’ve come across in a long time. The give and take between everyone is spirited but also very civil in almost all occasions that I have seen.
It is moderated very well and they have a good format, in my opinion, on how you accumulate experience points for your contributions and participation in general. I could offer more but I think you get the picture. These are all reasons that I’d like to stay for a long time to come.

It sucked me right in, and refuses to let me go! More seriously, I feel like I’ve found some wonderful little village filled with lovely, lively, intelligent and interesting people.
Bluefreedom: There was a question the other day about a change in the questions here recently. I had to laugh because they have no idea about really nasty gang-bangers on the dark side (AV) Welcome into the light.
Since 8/8/08.
I was a refugee from the great banning, and I have slowly started to spend more of my time here. People are so much more responsive here. It also seems like there are a higher percentage of people here who have interesting things to say.
I’ve been here since December 19th, 2006, and I stay because how could you possibly leave?

@galileogirl. You’re not kidding. I’ve seen some dastardly things over on AV but Fluther is happening in a groovy kind of way. :o)

I joined on June 6, 2008. I stayed because I got an instant Fluthercrush on Marina and then other Fluthercrushes developed quickly and now there are too many people that I genuinely like. I’d miss them if I stopped Fluthering.

I lurve Fluther. I find it a nice place to break away from the real world. I like asking questions and apparently answering questions. :) I too am a lurve whore.

What keeps me hooked? I crave information and I yearn to give back to the world the information I have obtained. I guess that’s it.

i’ve been here since the early early morning of the 16th of december, 2008.
it feels as if it’s been much much longer, but not in a negative way. i really can’t believe it’s only been like 4 months.
and do i need reasons to stay, when i can’t even find one that would make me want to leave?
