I use Songbird. I like it a lot but there are still some bugs in it that need to be worked out before the final version is released. It definitely has a lot of potential!

“cheaper”

They’re both free.

“by Firefox”

It’s based on Firefox, if that’s what you mean.

I tried it a while ago, but it was early enough that it would barely function. I would try it out again, but my school has decided to block all freeware downloads. /grumblegrumbleidiots

I expect that on a Mac, the integration is much better with iTunes. So I’m pretty happy to just stick with it. Plus, I’m fair sure that Songbird won’t play any of the protected content that I’ve purchased on iTunes (granted, only a few songs—no other way to use those darned gift cards—but still, it would be a problem).

In any case, I’m interested to see where it goes. I’m wary of the hype, though.

Songbird is great! however iTunes is still the best solution for me.

I believe Songbird and iTunes have different objects, i.e. Songbird is more of a media player and -discoverer, while iTunes is more focused on purchasing music and on your iPod and stuff. Or something like that.

@Vincentt
Um… iTunes is a media player; I’m not sure what you mean by “Songbird is more of a media player.” As for discovery, I rely on friends, Last.fm, and personal experience.
