What's the best Blog/CMS platform for a newspaper?

Asked by jessehattabaugh (492points) November 14th, 2008

I’m evaluating software to provide a charity newspaper with a website. Self-hosted blogs like Blogger, Wordpress, and Tumblr are top considerations, but there are a lot of platforms these days. This is a typical 4–6 page street paper which publishes stories written by readers. Ability to customize appearance is a given. A multi-editor system with drafts, and unprivileged editors would be great!

Wordpress is great for what you want to do. Great support from community. Has probably everything you need, and if it does not you can add the functionality through plugins. Also there are lots of magazine themes. Probably by far the most used CMS
