How do you take your coffee?

Asked by poofandmook (17320points) November 19th, 2008

This is what my best friend Jeff and I call our “heroin in a cup”: a 20 or 24 oz. cup of Wawa (convenience store in central/southern NJ) 100% Columbian blend filled about 4/5 full and then Wawa French vanilla creamer up to the brim. This stuff is so amazing… I don’t know who distributes it to Wawa but it’s incredible. It requires no sugar, and that’s coming from someone who’ll dump 8–10 sugars in. I actually will drive the 15 minutes, past delis and two other similar-type convenience stores to the nearest Wawa for my coffee.

What’s your “heroin in a cup”?

I like mine the color of a polar bear. I use obscene amounts of milk, and usually no sugar. Maybe a tiny little bit. Esp. if it’s iced.

ETA: ALSO, I tried some Wawa fruit punch… and I don’t get what the fuss was about. Maybe you have to grow up with it.

That is a funny name for it.LOL!!! well, I can’t drink coffee anymore but when I did I had two teaspoons of sugar and the vanilla creamer in it.

Never got into drinking coffee. But I do make it in the morning and take a cup to my husband. I just love the smell of it first thing in the morning.

A large Caribou breakfast blend. Black. I don’t like much of that fuzzy stuff to put in coffee. (Although, I do have a soft spot for the Coffee Mate holiday creamers. Like peppermint mocha.)

Cream and sugar. A bit too much of each. I’ve decreased in recent years – as a teen I would drink triple triples but I’m down to double doubles now (that’s how many order coffee in Canada’s national coffee shop Tim Hortons, double double means two cream two sugar).

Cream and sugar.

I don’t just “take” my coffee, I pay for it.
Geez, poof. Are you promoting theft?

Mtl_zack's avatar

i like a double double. 2 milk/2 sugar.

I drink the crap they make here at work all day long; but I love me Starbucks. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the new Jack in the box coffee.

Oh, and “black, hot, and strong.” Like Tina Turner! Only for her, I have to add “beautiful.” Mm mm.

Ummm, Poof, I don’t want bust your bubble, but the French Vanilla creamer probably has as much sugar as the packets you were using. Sugar packets probably have about 15 calories each, so if you really use 10 you’re saving calories by using the French Vanilla creamer. But, there is other heart-stopping stuff in the creamer you might want to check out.

Oh, and I like my coffee, um, like Tina Turner. Extra legs, please.

poofandmook's avatar

@Sueanne: Oh, I’m fully aware of that. But I don’t have to rip open all those little packets!

@Chuck: I just might be!

I drink mine black, and I prefer the free stuff at work to tar-flavored Starbucks.

poofandmook's avatar

@Sueanne: Really, between the smoking I’ve picked up recently, and the at-my-desk-12-hours-a-day diet I’ve reluctantly been forced to adopt, the creamer is the least of my worries.

Hot & Often (that sounds kinda…something)...I’m referring to coffee!

Can no longer drink coffee that isn’t espresso. If I travel inland, I have to hop from one university town to the next without stopping.

Awww, Poofy! that’s no way to go through life! Quit the ciggy’s and keep the Wawa Coffee. (BTW, WAWA is my second favorite name for convenience stores. My favorite? Kum and Go)

you all didn’t believe little slutty Sueanne until you clicked the link, didja?

@Sueanne: Oh my goodness. Do they have pancakes there?? :D

I only have a cup of coffee maybe every three or four months. I like it with half-and-half and two sugars.

My personal heroin is an ice-cold Coke at lunch. I restrict it to one a day – and buy the imported cane-sugar Coke from Mexico in the green glass bottles. :)

With a little sugar and soymilk.

Sometimes I put a little cinnamon in with the grounds before brewing, which gives it a very slight taste and smell of that.

There’s a great Turkish proverb that says: “Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death, and sweet as love.”

I take mine black, but I’ve always loved that quote.

Just cream. My SIL got me hooked on that faux creamer junk. I can’t seem to wean myself off of it. It just has that creamy goodness. Never sugar. My Mom fed me coffee with sugar on a cold rainy camping trip when I had the flu. I have never liked sweet coffee since then.
@Sueanne I saw the K&Gs for the first time this summer on a motorcycle trip. I think in Oklahoma or Nebraska? I can’t remember, but it slayed me. WTF?

A double espresso made w/organic coffee from the Intag valley here in Ecuador (best coffee in the world), a bit of arak or ouzo, super super strong I love it, but when I’m out a long juan valdez espresso works…

Half and half.

Sometimes, with some syrup or flavoured creamer. White mocha, chocolate with hazelnut, peppermint mocha… mmmm…
