For the same reasons you like any other weather.

I like the snow because it is very pretty. You can have a lot of fun in it—sledding, snow fighting, making snow-cream. It looks great falling, it looks great when it is done falling. It’s so much fun to walk through.

I like the cold because it is crisp and refreshing. I love putting on sweaters and getting close to a fire with a hot drink which is a lot harder to do in the summer.

Same reason I like the rain. I don’t feel guilty if I sleep all day and eat hot soup when I am awake.

Cold/snow…me no likey. Maybe because I’m acclimated to warm and dry…and snow is wet and cold.

Cheers for JP not eating soup when he is sleeping!

I live in Wisconsin and frankly I am getting tired, after almost 50 years, of snow, ice and cold. But I will persevere! for a couple more years until i can move to St. Pete Beach and get my waitress job at Crabby Bills where I can drink and tell funny, dirty stories with other like-mined adults.

Snow can make everything beautiful, even something like a landfill! It also creates quiet, stillness like nothing else. Love snowboarding and sledding. Snow is fun, and creates chaos which is another huge appeal for me!

i really like it when you’re driving in snow and the flakes come rushing at your windshield. also its cozy to put on a bunch of warm clothes and snuggle up to a warm person. i love the cold…much better than summer imo

I love having seasons. I like summer, but I really like winter and fall. Clothes are prettier and snow is so much fun. Everything is so beautiful when covered in a light dusting of the white stuff, and I like drinking a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold night. I don’t see what’s not to like. I’d much rather be cold than hot. At least when you’re cold you can throw on a hat or a sweater. When you’re hot, there is not much you can do.

i particularly do love the cold weather because i love dressing up heavy. Just wearing a t-shirt during summer is boring. I’m lame i know.

Because it’s fluffy.

johnpowell really nailed it. Snow helps me appreciate sitting in a comfy chair in an office all day, it’s fun to drive around in, and the dark caused by cloud cover is calming. Today, however, it snowed a bunch between 4–6am and now the sun’s out casting a nasty glare on everything.

But mostly winter weather is great from inside.

It makes me think about past things, and I get melancholic, but in a nice way

Most heavier people I know prefer colder climates. They just love the snow, and hate the heat of the summer.

One guy I use to work with went so far as to litterally move the air conditioning vent in the ceiling over his desk to stay cooler.

I love temperate climates; I spent most of my time growing up in SF. One thing I hate about living in the east is the unbearably hot and humid summers. Every summer, I count down the days until fall comes. Then, I revel in the dropping temperatures, the crispness of the air, the changing of the leaves, etc. I can’t say I love it when it’s cold enough outside to freeze the balls off a brass monkey, but after growing up with months of rain during winter, I jump for joy when it snows!

It’s so pretty, less wet.. it’s pretty coming down, and it makes the world look so beautiful. I love snow. :)

some people live in the constant humidity of south florida and will appreciate just about anything that is not 80 degrees with close to 100% humidity
):

asmonet's avatar

@tiffy: I do not miss living in the Tampa Bay area. I don’t think I ever will.

tiffyandthewall's avatar

@asmonet, i can imagine i won’t miss the miami area much either. i do occasionally get these random spurts of pride, but as soon as i walk out the front door it goes away. haha

asmonet's avatar

So about the time you see the bleached blond, overweight, senior citizen in daisy dukes and a pink halter that every city in FL seems to have?

tiffyandthewall's avatar

YES. haha. and just as that senior citizen is shoving past, the humidity slaps me in the face, and i think, ‘this is winter ):’

asmonet's avatar

@tiffy: Ahhhh, doesn’t quite live up to the brochure, eh? :P

Frozen toes
Numb fingers
Ears that feel as if they will crack off your head
Slipping on ice
Skidding on ice (auto)
Shoveling snow
Christmas is near.

I’m in California again, it’s 90 degrees outside (but at least less humid), my room is a converted garage without much ventilation and no a/c, and how I wish there was snow or cold weather right now! I would love to be chilly and have to bundle up…
