When eating potato chips do you pull them from the bag one chip at a time or grab a whole handful?

I prefer to pull one large, crisp, perfect chip, and take a huge bite out of it.

When I get down to the shards, I grab a handful and stuff it in my face.

I pull out one or two at a time.

I’m pretty much on the same page as tonedef. Once I hit the shards, I’m grabbing a handful. Below that and I’m turning the bag up so I can eat the crumblies.

I’m with them—when the chips are big and undamaged, I take one or two at a time. When they are tiny crumbs or slivers, I grab a handful.

Crumblies FTW. They’re so salty and rewarding.

I like to eat from a smaller pile in my hand. I find it’s easier to over-eat if you keep taking from the bag one at a time. I usually don’t eat the crumblies cause they’re so unmanageable, I get crumbs everywhere so I don’t bother.

I take ‘em one crisp at a time unless they’re small as other have said.

That is, unless it’s someone else’s bag, in which case I grab a big handful. ;)

A handful.
So other people can get into the bag easier.
And so that I can see what I’m eating.

I take one or two at a time, specifically between the thumb and index finger of my right hand. I’m sort of batty about having dirty hands… plus my job entails endless use of a mouse, which I can use without mucking it up if I just use those two fingers to eat.

After it gets to the point where I can’t do that, I tip the bag up into my mouth.

Two or three at a time in my palm…unless my kids are around, at which time I take a huge handful as they will soon be all gone!

If there were a way to get the whole bag into my mouth in once handful, I’d do it.

my wife and i argue about this all the time. she eats chips one at a time. she even eats them by breaking them as she bites that one chip no matter how hungry she is. i, on the other hand, grab a couple or a few and put the whole “grab-ful” in my mouth. she says that’s being greedy. i say, “no, i’m just hungry dammit and one little chip wafer at a time is not going to do it for me.”

chips just taste better when you have more in your mouth to crunch.

as i write this, it has been a long time since i’ve eaten potato chips due to what’s going on a 5-month hiatus from sugar, fats and simple carbs.

One at a time.

I hate having dirty hands, so my preference is to tip the bag and pour some out onto a plate or in a bowl. Then I generally pick up one big chip or two or more small chips at a time.

Depends if im high or not.

@ uber: not high, it sounds tacky – go back to being under the influence!

El_Cadejo's avatar

hahaha.
Well i mean if im not “under the influence” i eat my chips in a normal manner. If i am on the other hand, its just handfuls of chips being shoved into my mouth :P
