How do you actually open an article from the OS X RSS feed screensaver?

Asked by TaoSan (7106points) November 26th, 2008

It says that after every feed there is a number, which I can see, and that upon hitting an according number key the feed should actually show up (presumably in mail, or wherever).

Thing is, even though I have mail running in the background, hitting any number key or function key will only result in the screensaver terminating, but not the feed opening.

Am I missing something?

Have you tried pressing Apple + # (where # is the number of the article you’d like to read)? If that doesn’t work, go into the preferences for that screensaver and see if that’s a feature you have to enable.

yip, no key combo works, and the prefs are only related to the source of the feed, not the actual behavior of the screensaver…..:(

I’m trying it w/ NYT Books. I’ll keep you posted.

I just tried it. It worked for me. I just pressed the number.
