Recommendations for travel in South Africa and Swaziland?

Asked by jeanm (279points) November 27th, 2008

I’ve traveled internationally but never to Africa so I’m looking for advise. Current plan: arts festival near Cape Town, visit to relatives (from D.C.) working in Swaziland. We’ve got a month to explore.

Kruger National Park, Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, Pilansberg National Park, Lion Park, Cheetah Park, the cave where they found Mrs. Ples (architectural site), Barberton (has a lot of colonial history attached to it), just drive around in the Free State or Limpopo Mpumalanga (gas is cheaper). There’s many things to do. Meet some locals on the aiplane or near your hotel and ask them for advice on where to go.
