How can i manage a single domain from two hosts?

this is what i want to achieve: http://cameron.io/ is a tumblr powered site whereas the archives link in the site leads to a part of the site which is obviously not hosted by tumblr

The articles and colophon links go to different subdomains.

Just set up new subdomains at your host and manage them as usual. As far as I know, you can’t put anything except for tumblelog posts at www.yourdomain.com/—but you can put whatever you want at subdomain.yourdomain.com.

It’s a reasonably elegant workaround.
