Do navy recruits get sent to Iraq or Afghanistan?

Yes. Several friends have sons in the navy, and they’re done ground time in Afghanistan

Yes, the Navy fulfills Individual Augmentee (IA) billets, essentially, requests from units operating in Iraq, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, or wherever, that need extra support. Also, the Navy is growing a larger expeditionary force that operates on land, primarily in those prime Global War on Terror areas of operations.
