What are the chances she's pregnant?

Asked by skabeep (927points) December 12th, 2008 from iPhone

I’m usually really careful but I came inside her 5 times last nite. How worried should I be?

It depends on the time of the month, not how many times. I know you’ll get plenty of responses, very specific and sometimes quite technical. But the rule of thumb is this: the closer you are to the middle of her cycle, the more worried you should be. If her period is due tomorrow, then it’s practically impossible for her to be pregnant. But if it was around Xmas, then it’s quite possible indeed.

Um, hello?? I think you already know the answer to that question.

SEX FAIL!

One time is a mistake. Five times is admitting that you are stupid. Or you are trying to brag about your amazing ability to ejaculate within seconds of penetration. Hint: that isn’t a good thing.

Here are most of the factors you should consider:

1. What forms of birth control were used. Did you use condoms, is she on any birth control pill or the shot (depo)?
2. How fertile the both of you are. If either you or she has reproductive issues of any kind, that could have an influence.
3. What point in her cycle she is currently in. The closer she is to her most fertile point , the higher the risk of pregnancy.
4. Her pregnancy history. Has she ever been pregnant before?
5. Her gynecological history.

If you’re honestly quite worried and the two of you would not want to go through a pregnancy, and if it has been less than 48 hours since you had sex, go to a Planned Parenthood and get the morning after pill (emergency contraception), which isn’t too expensive. It is two pills, one taken immediately and the other taken twelve hours later, that will lower the chance of pregnancy into the single digits. Do note that it MUST be within 48 hours.

My advice would be; if you aren’t ready to be a father, be very careful with your contraception methods. There are a host of products that range from 70–99.99% effective. USE THEM.

I can’t help wondering… How does one go from usually really careful to coming in her five times in one night. That does not compute.

As for your question, if she was ovulating, or close to ovulating you could very well be a father in approximately 40 weeks.

Isn’t this something you should have thought about last night? I think you should follow TitsMcGhee ‘s advice. Find a contraceptive and use it every time.

Im going to call you Raw Dog from now on skabeep.

@skabeep, if you don’t understand how reproduction works, you should not be having sex, let alone unprotected sex.

how could you be careful and came five times?

i think most of these answers should help

What does she think of her trip to “Bareback Mountain?”

Communication…

The above answer by SuperMouse is why I always turned to her for reproductive advice. She is one smart cookie!

gimmedat's avatar

Don’t worry, SM, I won’t tell anyone I was pregnant at 17. Nobody will ever know!

SuperMouse's avatar

Well almost no one, but we all know how to keep a secret.

Shhhh. Man, you’ll blow my cover!

You trying to get her pregnant?

delirium's avatar

If you’re really that stupid, I honestly beg that you DO NOT REPRODUCE.

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

Actually you can take the pill Plan B up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. It is available over the counter if you are 18 or older. I saw a comercial on this today

What will you name your kid?

AlfredaPrufrock's avatar

@lynzeut, I’m going to make sure my daughter’s friends know about this.

@skabeep, you can also get a girl pregnant without ejaculating inside her, so 5 times is meaningless to your problem.

jca's avatar

if you’re doing this unprotected sex thing, you need to think not “what are the chances she’s pregnant” but “what will i do when she gets pregnant?” what kind of dad will I be? how will i support the baby? am i prepared for this monumental event? if not, then you need to think with your big head, not your little head.

SuperMouse's avatar

Excellent point jca! The other thing to consider Ska is STD’s. Condoms not only help prevent pregnancy, but help prevent such things as AIDS, Chlamydia, Herpes, and Gonorrhea.

If skabeep asked this question because he thought people would be impressed that he could ejaculate 5 times in one night, it was a huge backfire! Instead of getting a bunch of high 5’s. and comments like “you da man”, he’s getting quite a lecture.

I hope you learn something from this thread and are alot more carefull from now on.

If you are usually “really careful” how did you manage to ejaculate 5 times inside her? My answer would be: Wait till she skips a period and then take a preggo test. I would be more worried about your inability to calculate your “really careful-ness”.
